I am Dr. Ghayyor Ahmad currently working as Chief Operations Manager of a family-owned agri-business, plus as a freelance Biomedical Consultant. I am a biologist, did my M.Sc in Zoology from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, and later completed my Doctor of Philosophy degree from the Department of Gastroenterology Endocrinology, University of Gttingen, Germany. During Ph.D., I worked under the mentorship of known legends in different areas of medicine including Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h. c. Giuliano Ramadori (Gastroenterology), Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h. c. Wolfgang Engel (Human Genetics) and Prof. Dr. med. Uwe Gross (Medical Microbiology). After my Ph.D., I continued as a post-doctoral fellow in the same department in Germany and later, on returning to Pakistan, joined the Department of Pathology of King Edward Medical University (KEMU), Lahore, Pakistan in August 2010, where I was involved in different research teaching activities of M.Phil and Ph.D. students of the university. In KEMU, I also regularized and supervised a CDC (USA) and NIH (Islamabad, Pakistan) collaborative project of Lab-based influenza surveillance in Punjab of Pakistan. I joined the Department of Human Genetics Molecular Biology of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore as an Assistant Professor (Molecular Biology) in March 2012. I got selected as Associate Professor (Human Genetics) at UHS in July 2017 however, at that point, I discontinued my services at UHS opted to take care of my agriculture-based family business on a full-time basis. In addition, I started working as a freelance biomedical research consultant.
