Dear Sir,

I offer my candidature for the post of _________________. I have vast experience of more than 37 years in different positions in the Economic Adviser's Wing, Ministry of Finance, Islamabad and in National Fertilizer Development Centre (NFDC), Planning and Development Division, in Projects Wing, Planning Commission, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad. I voluntarily retired from the post of Deputy Chief, NFDC, Planning and Development Division in August 2002, about 4 years before my due retirement date. At present I am working as Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Projects Wing, Planning Commission since 1st June, 2007 on contract basis but it will expire by the end of June, 2013.
2. I did Masters in Economics in 1971 taking subjects like International Economics, Monetary Economics, Marketing and Statistics and did Masters in Agricultural Economics in 1974 taking subjects like Economics, Land Economics, Agricultural Prices, Sociology, Agricultural Marketing and Statistics.
3. In Economic Adviser's Wing prepared chapters on Agriculture, Statistical Bulletins, Summaries and Technical papers on different economic issues. I learned the working experience about different national and international economic issues.
4. In NFDC prepared various monitoring reports on fertilizer supply, demand and prices on annual and seasonal basis. I prepared Fertilizer Statistical Bulletin (several issues). Prepared Summaries, Briefs and Technical Reports on different policy and marketing issues. Organized and conducted several field surveys, analyzed data and prepared reports. Organized and conducted 3-4 Training Program on Fertilizer Marketing. Designed and assisted in the development of Fertilizer Data Base. Attended several meetings of the Fertilizer Tender Committee in the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock and provided inputs regarding the supply/demand and price situation in the international market. Attended 6-7 training program abroad. Also worked as a counterpart with Foreign Consultants for about 8 years.
5. Being at number two position in NFDC, worked as Controlling Officer for 4 years looking after administrative, accounts and procurement matters. Also worked as Acting Project Director for one year during the training period of the Project Director. During that period looked after day to day work, reviewed the progress of work of the staff as per work plan and provided guidance for the work to be accomplished.
6. Worked as Consultant in FAO of the United Nations on the post of MIS Specialist in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for a period of 6 months. There I designed and help developed fertilizer data base, imparted computer training to the officers of NFIA and prepared final consultancy report.
7. Worked as Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist in the Projects Wing of the Planning Commission of Pakistan from 1st June, 2007 to 30th June, 2013. Duties included field monitoring of about 20-25 PSDP projects from various sectors twice a year all over the country, preparation of monitoring reports as well as monitoring and performance evaluation reports and send these to the higher authorities with the object to highlight the main issues, suggesting recommendations for taking timely corrective measures, so that, project can be completed within stipulated cost and time and finally circulated to the concerned sponsoring Ministries / Divisions. Duties also included vetting of about 50-60 Cash/Work Plans of five ministries/divisions. Besides that, I have prepared following detailed monitoring and evaluation reports
