The Team Lead Senior System Administrator for the Backup Team will be responsible for managing a team of backup administrators, ensuring the integrity and availability of critical backups, and implementing improvements in backup management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and lead a team of backup administrators.
Develop, suggest, and implement changes in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for proper backup management.
Ensure all critical backups are maintained, verified, and restorable within required time frames.
Monitor and maintain backup systems to ensure their optimal performance and availability.
Coordinate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of backup systems.
Provide hands-on support and troubleshooting for backup-related issues.
Perform regular audits and health checks on backup systems and processes.
Stay updated with the latest backup methodologies and technologies.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.

Requirements

Preferably Master’s degree or a 4 years Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in backup management and system administration.
Extensive hands-on experience with Veeam, Commvault, and Backup Exec.
Strong understanding of the latest backup methodologies and technologies.
Proven leadership skills and experience managing a technical team.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

Certification in backup solutions (e.g., Veeam Certified Engineer, Commvault Certified Professional).
Experience with cloud backup solutions.
Familiarity with data protection regulations and compliance requirements.
