The Financial Accountant with VAT Experience will responsible for managing the client's financial records, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and handling all VAT-related activities. This role involves overseeing daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with financial and tax regulations, and supporting financial planning and analysis activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation and payroll.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
  • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Ensure compliance with IAS and IFRS
  • Oversee and ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and support decision-making.
  • Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with UAE regulations.
  • Ensure timely payment of VAT and manage all related documentation.
  • Conduct regular VAT audits and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
  • Provide advice on VAT planning and tax-efficient strategies.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in VAT laws and regulations.
  • Respond to VAT inquiries and manage any disputes or appeals.
  • Prepare reports on VAT matters for management review.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure all transactions are VAT-compliant.

Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or UAE CA is must.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, with specific experience in VAT.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Tax and Financial accounting standard will be a great edge
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
