• Supervise activities carried out by the Turner Fitter, Mechanical Technicians, and Utility Operators, allocating tasks based on role expertise and regularly monitoring the status of assignments and maintenance schedules
  • Set clear deadlines to direct reports using tracking tools, assisting the team in prioritizing tasks based on urgency, importance, and alignment with organizational goals
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations, encourage the team to voice concerns or make suggestions for improvements to maintenance processes
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Manager Operations to plan, prioritize, and execute mechanical maintenance strategies
  • Ensure the proper allocation and utilization of tools, equipment, and machinery required by the Mechanical Technicians
  • Provide hands-on training for direct reports when new equipment or procedures are introduced, continuously assessing the training needs of the team and ensuring they are equipped with the latest technical skills
  • Act as a key contact during mechanical emergencies, coordinating with the Assistant Manager Operators to execute emergency response plans related to mechanical issues
  • Ensure the safety of personnel and the environment during a mechanical breakdown or failure, using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify the root cause of the failure, and engaging with direct reports to gather insights
  • Create a detailed report outlining the nature of the breakdown, the identified cause, and the immediate action taken, highlighting key findings to the Assistant Manager of Operations  
  • Uphold team safety protocols and conduct safety training sessions that educate the team on the latest safety protocols, proper use of tools, and the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Adhere to high standards of plant maintenance and ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental management systems
  • Keep abreast on the latest developments in mechanical work and operations to ensure NFL adopts best practices consistently
