Position Overview:

This position provides technical support, and pre and post-sales services to customers as well as supports the sales team regarding lube advisory; Supports the shell team regarding market activities and penetration of competition; Manages operational tasks; Manages accounts of TOP 5 customers; Works towards the overall growth of lubricants business.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s in mechanical/ chemical engineering

Experience: 1 to 2 years of quality experience in the lubricants & services industry

  • Good understanding of lubrication techniques and machinery
  • Understanding of machinery and their conditioning monitoring
  • Thorough knowledge of lubrication techniques and effective lubrication
  • In-depth knowledge of sales cycle along with other commercial terms such as Taxation, Sales cycle, Invoicing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide front-line technical support to customers and sales staff including problem-solving, troubleshooting, and application advice for c.80% of all front-line technical issues. This may be proactive in line with sales/marketing efforts or reactive to customer complaints and claims or used oil analysis. Provide basic failure diagnosis for lubrication-related failure.
  • Quickly and accurately determine customer requirements for technical and product information to resolve the issue first time.
  • Correctly specify appropriate Shell products to be used for specific applications (vehicles, machinery, and equipment), including the specification of equivalent Shell product to replace a competitor’s product, for all lubricants products. Immediate recommendations should be possible for more than 75% of applications, and with the use of reference materials and networks, etc. should be possible for 95% of all cases.
  • Advise with support from Shell FLTS on the relevance to equipment service life & maintenance action requirements associated with pre-interpreted oil analysis results.
  • Prepare customer plant/equipment audits, lubrication surveys, product rationalization audits and conduct field trials, as necessary to support the overall business strategy.
  • Provide HSE, Occupational Health, safety and product disposal advice to customers and front-line sales, in line with local legislation requirements. Actively keep up to date with changes in legislation.

Technical Services to Customers

  • Assists customers in selecting the right lubricants as per their need.
  • Provides Technical support to all customers using Shell Lubricants
  • Develop & execute technical services plan according to customer needs.
  • Ensure after-sales services are provided to Shell customers.
  • Responsible for answering customer queries, troubleshooting, and providing after-sales support.
  • Training of Sales Team and Customers
  • Assists Sales staff and trains them about lubricants portfolio.
  • Provides awareness about basic lubricants knowledge.
  • Maintains learning and development calendar for all sales team.
  • Ensures Sales staff works independently & offer various shell products to existing and new customers.
  • Suggest to them where and how they can cross and upsell Shell and JBL products.

Tracking of Shell Products

  • Tracks customers using shell lubricants along with their machinery details;
  • Ensures a record is made and made available to the Shell Team, Support Shell Team regarding market activities and penetration of competition.
  • Ensure all after-sales services are provided to all Shell customers.
  • Aims to exceed overall business revenue by enabling shell premium product sales.

Managing T5B5 Accounts

  • Manages accounts of TOP 5 AND BIG 5 customers for further cross and upselling of shell lubricants.
  • Ensures frequent visits and support to the Sales team to meet the desired targets.
