UK INTERNATIONAL AIRLINES
The British-Asian community whose ancestors had arrived from the sub-continent in the 1950s and 60s, has finally matured to a stage where it has the capability and capacity to launch a scheduled international airline, able to meet operational and safety requirements based on universally proven standards. UK International Airlines is a business of the Khaliq family, owners of the Queensland Group of Businesses located at Sheffield in South Yorkshire. It has been created to meet the long-standing desire of the community to travel in an Asianised on-board environment. It is also meant to provide decent career opportunities for willing members of the community. The airline is to be launched in May 2007.
UKIA is to be initially based at the uncongested and friendly East Midlands International Airport near Nottingham. Shortly, flights will also be undertaken from Manchester and London to facilitate travel of the community members residing in and around those areas. Tickets for travel on the airline would be sold through reputable Travel Agencies in various towns and cities, as indeed on the Internet. The cost of tickets would be kept at levels of affordability.
UKIA would start its launch operations to the UAE and Pakistan on wide body Boeing-767 aircraft. Configured in 2-class configuration, these aircraft boast spacious, well laid-out modern cabins. The Management of the airline is making special efforts to provide in-flight service of the highest standard. The cabin crews are trained to display new levels of hospitality and in-flight courtesy. While cruising in comfort at altitudes around 10,000 metres, passengers would be served specially prepared hot food and refreshments by chefs from reputed restaurants in the UK. Similarly, in-flight entertainment would take into account the likes and values of the young and old within the community.
Flown and serviced by certified professionals, the first flights will be to Sharjah in the UAE, and Islamabad in Pakistan. Gradually, more destinations in the Asian sub-continent and the Far East will be introduced. UKIA also has serious plans of undertaking passenger and cargo flights to our community hubs in the North America in not too distant a future.
With the active support of our well-wishers, and the prayers of our supporters, UKIA hopes to welcome you on board soon.
