Generator Technician

We are looking for a skilled Generator Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance/service, and repair of generator systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance on generator sets, including oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant level checks.
Diagnose and repair mechanical issues within generator systems, such as failures in starting, operating inefficiencies, or unexpected shutdowns.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety.
Install new generator sets and electrical components, following engineering specifications and adhering to local, state, and national electrical codes.
Calibrate and adjust generator control panels and equipment to ensure that the generators operate within specified parameters.
Provide emergency on-call support for generator failures or power outages, including troubleshooting and repairs at any hour to minimize downtime.
Document service actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records, maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repair, and replacement activities.
Train clients or end-users on the proper operation and basic maintenance of generator sets to ensure safe and efficient use.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Generator Technician or similar role.
Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Ability to use diagnostic tools and testing devices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and the ability to train others.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites.
Understands English.
Computer literate.
Relevant certifications are a plus.
