Demonstrates safe pre and post-care of Cardic& Liver Surgery patients, equipment and OR.
Accurate and precise in documentation e.g. patient pre-op perfusion-related data, perfusion checklist, pharmacy, supply form, and log book.
Maintain and ensure a comfortable, clean, and safe environment for patients.
Maintain aseptic techniques in operating rooms
Open sterile supplies and sets with aseptic techniques.
Maintain equipment in working condition and inform senior of any fault and take action accordingly.
Prepare the operating room with appropriate instruments, heart-lung machine, supplies, and equipment as per the procedure.
Monitor the emotional stability of patients and report changes to the consultant.
Prepare the cardiopulmonary bypass circuit for all cardiac surgical procedures.
Help inserting of intra aortic balloon catheter (IABC)
Monitor the patient after IABC insertion and teach ICU staff.
Operate the cell saver during the procedure/surgery.
Operate the ACT (Activated Clotting Time) machine and assessment of coagulation status during open-heart surgeries.
Operate heat exchanger during surgery.
Select suitable supplies for all cardiac surgical procedures.
Maintain sufficient par level for all equipment used in Open Heart and Liver Transplant surgery.
