Job Overview:
Saleem Fabrics is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Intern to join our finance team. This internship will provide hands-on experience in various accounting functions and an opportunity to learn and grow within a dynamic retail environment. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles and a keen interest in pursuing a career in finance or accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately input financial data into the accounting system, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Assist in maintaining organized and up-to-date financial records, both digitally and in hard copy.
- Support the accounts team in reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies.
- Help in preparing, issuing, and tracking invoices for customers and suppliers.
- Assist in tracking and categorizing business expenses, ensuring proper documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely payments and resolve any billing issues.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
- Perform other related administrative tasks as required by the finance department.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
