Senior Cloud Engineer

The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and management of cloud-based solutions and infrastructure. The role includes ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of cloud services, as well as providing technical guidance and support to other team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud environments using best practices and industry standards.
Lead and execute cloud migration strategies from on-premises infrastructure to cloud services.
Develop automation scripts for efficient deployment and operations of cloud resources.
Ensure cloud solutions are implemented and operated with high availability, robustness, and resilience in mind.
Monitor cloud environments, analyzing performance metrics, and optimizing resources for improved efficiency and cost savings.
Implement and maintain cloud security measures, including access controls, firewalls, encryption, and threat detection systems.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud services into applications and software solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and team members.
Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, and evaluate their applicability to business goals.
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and efficient cloud services.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years focused on cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Strong understanding of cloud architecture and services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Solid understanding of networking, security, and database concepts in a cloud context.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
Experience in DevOps practices and tools.
Knowledge of agile methodologies and experience in a fast-paced development environment.
