As evident in my career progress, I have demonstrated a great command of written and oral communication skills in English and Urdu. I regularly find myself in the crucial position of coordinating communication and meetings with high-level stakeholders such as officials and top executives from governmental and non-governmental organizations like the Ministry of Climate Change and the World Bank. Besides actively presenting my research findings, facilitating workshops, and supporting the implementation of policy changes, I also represent my organization at major conferences and meetings - all fueled by my passion for promoting sustainable agricultural , climate resilience , and WASH Practices . Recently, I represented the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center at the NDU ISSRA Round Table Discussion on Climate Finance in Pakistan held at the National Defense University. Perhaps due to my relevant experiences, I pride myself on the aptness of my ability to translate complex research findings into strategic policy recommendations. I believe that my unique set of experiences and expertise underscores my capability to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships and represent any organization very effectively in various professional settings.
Since my early days, I have found meaning and inspiration in learning about agriculture and the impact of climate change on it, due to its relevance in the Gilgit-Baltistan, the region I hail from. This led me to pursue intensive undergraduate academic training in agricultural sciences with a concentration in Plant Pathology and a postgraduate education in environmental sciences. I have utilized my skills and knowledge in various full-time capacities - as an agriculturist for the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP), as a researcher for the Hashoo Foundation Gilgit.
Currently, I work as a Climate Resilience Technical Associate at the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) where I routinely contribute to climate resilience surveys and industry reports, while consistently earning high regard for my expertise in analysis. I also spend a great part of my time examining climate resilience policies, assessing food security and WASH interventions, and identifying trade barriers in regions across Pakistan.
I consider my professional competence and versatility a mere product of determination, strong organizational skills, and adaptability in both independent and team-oriented environments. My secret to navigating an intense workload is my ability to assess and organize tasks in order of priority and navigate each of the tasks promptly with utmost patience and attention to detail. I have cultivated this temperament through my love for music and my intentionally mindful practice of several musical instruments that I love to play.
Currently, at ADPC, I simultaneously manage many essential operational tasks. I meticulously handle details and make sure all technical documents are correct. I consistently meet deadlines while assisting my organization with regular project activities. In my previous roles at the Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP), I trained more than a 29 farmers over a few months on new environmentally friendly farming techniques. I addressed the challenges in Chipursan Valley (near the Wakhan corridor, Gilgit Baltistan), where harsh climatic conditions rendered traditional farming methods useless. I spearheaded the transition to novel sustainable practices implemented through extensive educational programs, farmer training, distribution of quality farming resources, and infrastructure improvements. This strategic application of modern scientific methods led to a 20 increase in agricultural yields, enhanced food security, and improved the communitys economic stability.
I am confident I can assume and manage significant responsibilities without direct supervision. I have led projects that required coordinating a team spanning different locations and involved complex stakeholder engagements and multiple deliverable streams. Having realized that my proactive approach to my duties and my leadership skills help me see my projects to successful completion, I can ensure well-targeted and timely deliveries. I have diligently and mindfully applied good judgment in making decisions and aligning team objectives with broader organizational goals.
I believe that my lifelong passion for agriculture and my experiences in conducting and compiling research and presenting it in high-level conferences make me a perfect fit for any position requiring similar expertise.
Thank you for considering my application.
