Huma Rasheed is a results oriented Project Management professional with hands-on experience of more than 4 years in the development sector. She has worked with culturallly diverse teams on several large projects funded by esteemed organizations such as UNESCO, USAID, UNICEF, DFID, AusAid, EU, etc. Known for her communication skills, Huma has a flair for delivering influencial presentations and writing technically sound reports. She has a brilliant academic track record with two gold medals, a Masters degree in Project Management and professional management certifications from LUMS. Her academic and professional achievements are a testament of her shrewdness and diligence towards fulfilment of her commitments. Now-a-days, Huma is working as Team Lead on a UNESCO funded project - GREP, implemented by Plan International Pakistan, where she is leading field teams in Islamabad and Muzaffargarh to complete a baseline.
I am currently working as Team Lead on a UNESCO funded project - Girls Right to Education Programme (GREP) implemented by Plan Pakistan and ORIC NUML. My major responsibilities include:
o Providing support in project planning, scheduling and budgeting. Recruiting, training and leading field teams for authentic data collection. Developing and implementing field action plans for Islamabad and Muzaffargarh. Supervision of data analysis and results compilation. Report writing and submission of deliverables to donor.
o Correspondence with key stakeholders and maintaining good work relationships with all parties involved.
o Ensuring project and information management compliance with donor standards.
As Country EFT Coordinator, I used to: 1)Liaise with offices within the country, other South Asian EFT coordinators and the regional coordinator to ensure implementation of British Council Environmental Policy. 2) Build awareness of colleagues on EFT and carry out advocacy campaigns. 3) Self-assess EFT performance and report regularly on environmental performance of projects and programs. 4) Identify and provide regular feedback of potential opportunities to the Head of Environmental Management.
My Major Achievements were:
1) Communicating and Influencing: Planned, organized and executed the British Council national green week simultaneously in all three British Council offices. Composed and delivered effective and influential communications for staff awareness regarding environmental issues in creative and innovative ways. As a result, achieved 13% increase in the total number of British Council Pakistan staff to have completed the Environmental Awareness Course.
2) Team Building and Team Leadership: Built, motivated and led a national team of volunteer “green champions” to execute British Council EFT activities.
3) Audits, Data Collection and Reporting: Successfully completed environmental audits of all three British Council offices. Collected authentic data for compilation of the Carbon Footprint for Pakistan using a systematic approach and documented all techniques for future reference. Timely submitted all annual EFT returns for Pakistan. Achieved major targets included in the EFT Country Plan 2014/15 for Pakistan. Drafted environmental tobacco control policy for British Council Pakistan.
I have worked as Project Coordinator for two FCR projects:
o IP3 (Improving Parliamentary Performance in Pakistan) – Funded by EU
o MNH RAF (Maternal and Newborn Health – Research and Advocacy Fund) – Funded by DFID and AUSAID
My major responsibilities were:
o Programme Delivery: Coordinate the delivery of project activities between head office and project units. Assist in tasks such as event management, information management, internal and external communications management, compliance, audit tracking, etc.
o Contract and Information Management: Develop and manage databases and control documents for effective management of project contracts. Maintain effective file management plans that comply to information management standards.
o Stakeholder Management: Support relationship management of key contacts for the projects and ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information.
o Financial Management: Provide support in financial accounting of the project on a regular basis; including vendor setup, invoice handling, payments processing, etc. through SAP.
o Project Compliance: Interpret and follow British Council project procedures and to ensure compliance with all systems and standards.
