Back in 2011, when SBT Japan decided to expand its market share in the African region, I was tasked with the challenge of having a database of 48 customers with a total import 4 units in past 6+ years with no regulatory and import policies training and information and was expected to create consistent exports in the region.
After panicking for about a week considering it was my first real job, I initiated with researching the policies and procedure and mandatory requirements of vehicle imports in Congo, Burundi, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Lesotho, Swaziland, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, and Mozambique. I also researched about the key challenges individuals and business importers are most likely to face. In the next step I started to search for the solutions of the most common challenges and what kind of business can we partner up with to eliminate them.
Long story short in four months I had the training material about the rules and regulation of vehicle importation of 10+ countries, top seller vehicles and various partners in the area of clearing & forwarding, logistics, and referrals.
In 3 years of my tenure, I successfully initiated business with 164 new accounts introduced many partners.
I received two promotions in my short tenure, and I was also the best performer 4th quarter 2013 in 1500+ employees.
Currently, I am working with 360factors and adding value in the area of lead generation, sales strategies, and training and development.
My role is to understand the challenges faced by Risk/Compliance professionals in the area of Governance Risk and Compliance Management and to investigate the root causes of the origination. I have to understand your organization/institution's current state and workflows, processes and reoccurring challenges associated with them (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly). I have to determine what kind of technologies are there which you can leverage at your organization bridge the GAP to move towards a desired operational state in the future. I assist your organization/your team/you in helping yourself to make things easy for the future you.
