I am Mushahid Hussain, a development sector professional with over 3 years of experience in project management, donor relations, business development and customer management. Currently, as a Donor Relations Officer at READ Foundation, I manage fundraising, secure donor partnerships, and coordinate community-based projects, including school construction, clean water initiatives, and skills development. Previously, I worked at Hashoo Foundation as a Program Officer, where I gained valuable experience in donor liaison, stakeholder management, project implementation, and proposal development. With a business administration degree from Quaid-i-Azam University, I am passionate about sustainable development and circular economies, focusing on resilient supply chains for SMEs and value chain projects for marginalized communities.
In my professional journey, I’ve led projects such as Pakistan Emergency Winter Relief, food distribution, and water supply initiatives, balancing complex logistical, financial, and stakeholder needs and bringing significant funding for my employer. I am also expanding my skills in public partnerships, and completed a training in " Planning and management of development projects" from National Center for Rural Development. With a proactive, solutions-focused approach, I am committed to making a lasting impact through innovative and sustainable development.
READ Foundation is a non-profit and non-governmental organization working for the provision of quality education in Pakistan. Since its inception in 1994, the READ Foundation has been unwavering in its commitment to catalyzing positive change by strengthening humanity through education in Pakistan. The organization embarked on its transformative journey from a modest beginning, establishing its first school in the small town of Riala in the Bagh district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. With just one teacher, one classroom, 25 students, and a meager sum of Rs. 25,000, READ Foundation planted the seeds of education.
My responsibilities at READ Foundation include but are not limited to;
Fostering seamless communication between READ Foundation\'s implementation teams and esteemed donor organizations including ICNA relief Canada, HASENE International, Human Concern International and local government entities.
To ensure transparency, accountability and understanding of the impact on ground, conducted insightful field visits to our project locations, actively monitoring and overseeing the implementation of various activities. Additionally, I\'ve had the privilege of facilitating donors during these visits, providing them with experiences of our projects, schools, and WASH-related initiatives.
Documentation and data controller: I am responsible for ensuring that all project documentation and data is accurate, up-to-date, and secure. I also liaise with donors and other stakeholders to ensure that they have access to the information they need.
Liaison: I am the secondry point of contact between the Hashoo Foundation and donor organizations, such as UNICEF, UNHCR, USAID, UNDP, and local government bodies. I facilitate communication and coordination between these organizations, and ensure that their needs are met.
Assessing: I assess the project activities and performance, and make reports on project outcomes. This includes identifying areas for improvement, and making recommendations for how to achieve better results. Identification of gaps between the reports and performance indicators before reporting to donors comes under my major responsibilities
Carrying out administration: I carry out administrative tasks, such as arranging logistics for donors and stakeholders, attending faculty meetings, and writing reports and meeting minutes. I also update meeting calendars for my supervisors.I am part of Project implementation and coordination with the regional project teams and addressing their requests and queries in the best possible and timely manner.
Report Writing and compilation of data: Being a donor liaison coordinator, I not only work with the donors and stakeholders but also supervise and facilitate the project field activities and maintain the data records of all the ongoing projects.
