Sustainability by using second hand products into home accessories

This research examines the sustainability of second hand clothing products. In this study the second hand materials were used to make home accessories. The second hand clothing products were purchased from LLB market. The projects are prepared by selection of designs. The objectives of this study was; 1) To collect the second hand clothing product from the market.;2)To design low cost new decorative products from second hand clothing material with the incorporation of new material;3)To evaluate the cost of designed products. Projects were designed by using Experimental approach and then the projects were evaluated for its design, quality, usability and cost by the field experts. The evaluation form has 13 statements and used 5 point Likert scale for rating each aspect of the designed project. For result analysis the Descriptive statistics was applied to find out the frequencies and percentages. The results showed that most of the respondents agreed with the sustainability of second hand items because these items were appealing in design and not too much expensive and give satisfaction to the respondents.
