As a Graduate Trainee Engineer, I am responsible for carrying out and maintaining record of daily activities. My daily routine activities include implementation of the work permit system, allocating jobs to workers, keeping follow-up of the tasks, performing SAP related activities and providing the desired materials required to carry out the job. I am also responsible for the preparation of weekly progress report of our engineering section. I also ensure that our Preventive Maintenance plan is executed as per plan. I am also responsible for keeping a record and follow-up of spares. I have also been involved in one of the major Turnarounds (TA-2018) of he company so far and have carried out my duties vigilantly.

I was deputed in the Diesel and Turbo section for two weeks where I learnt the way company carried out its sales and services. I was given some lectures on the basics of sales and how the sale of turbochargers was carried out at the company. Along with the basic learning, I was assigned some tasks to complete within my internship duration. I assisted in the implementation of 5S in workshop. I took lectures along with the other workers on different ISO standards and how they could be implemented in the industry. Later, I helped in arranging the library as per ISO standards. I assisted in the audit of the service documentation. Also, I learned about the different machinery placed in the workshop that was used for overhauling of different machine components. I learnt how to use the overhead crane to move heavy objects in the workshop and also to load them on the truck for transportation. I also took part in balancing a rotor that came in the workshop for repairing purpose. Also, I performed detailed analysis of turbocharger and engine. During the last two weeks, I was deputed in the Trucks and Buses section where I was assigned under a supervisor to assist him. During this time, I assisted him in replacing the gear box of a bus.

I did a two month project based internship at Engro Fertilizers. During the course of my internship, I was first deputed at the Maintenance Planning Department and then the Urea-2 FM section. During the initial phase of my internship, I learnt about the different processes involved in urea production. I learnt the use of planning software “MICROSOFT PROJECT”. I was given a project to learn the command of "RESOURCE PLANNING" which was not being used at that time for planning. I was asked to assess the advantages of implementing this command and give a presentation on how it can be implemented at Engro in the Planning department. In the Urea-2 FM section, I performed detailed study and analysis of pumps, valves and heat exchanger. For my project, I performed a thorough analysis on the different problems occurring in a Centrifugal pump and proposed its solutions. Later, I prepared a presentation on it and presented it in front of the managers of different departments.

As an intern I was deputed in the Manufacturing (Appliances Division) Department. During the course of my internship, I observed various processes involved in the assembling of refrigerator. I carried out Time-Motion study of the door assembly section. I was responsible for carrying out timely inspection of the various assembling process. I prepared layouts of different sections on Auto-CAD. I also listed the processes that could be avoided in order to save time in manufacturing of one unit.
