A Program management specialist having over fourteen (14) years of professional experience in the field of program management, health systems development & management, monitoring and evaluation, policy and system reviews, for developing efficient and sustainable integrated models of health services delivery for improved health outcomes, i.e., both curative and preventive sides on; maternal and new born care, family planning and reproductive health services, nutrition and immunization. Specialist in designing and developing voucher management system with blending of supply-side and demand-side financing approaches in health.
Currently working as Technical Coordinator, the role include; ensure technical excellence in implementation and planning in relation to Program for Improved Nutrition in Sindh. Provide leadership, technical support, and input in development of strategies, tools and program implementation. This position is a technical position combining operational oversight, team management and technical leadership. Create liaison with partners, govt. line departments, and other stakeholders for project activities. The project is being implemented through consortium wherein ten implementing partners (National, international and Public sector, i.e., DoH and PWD) work in collaboration to achieve project goals. Furthermore, under the role I have to look at retrospective study to evaluate the impact of Social Behavior Change and communication (SBCC) activities that will feed in to SBCC strategy, Baseline and End line SMART Surveys, Semi-Quantitative Evaluation, Access and Coverage Assessments, Comparative studies of different Operations Models implemented under the Program.
• Lead the MIS and reporting system
• Responsible to lead transformation of MIS on ACHP application
• Provide leadership and strategic direction to analyse operational programmatic data and using it to plan and
manage the program and its systems.
• Ensure the step down orientation of MIS to operations management.
• To oversee quality of field data gathered; produce statistical analysis and trends where necessary; draft monthly,
quarterly and annual project reports, brief analytical snap shots, info graphics for decision making
• Along with the above, developed strategies which include; designing and development of behavior change
communication and gender sensitive mobilization drives, exit and sustainability strategies, and development of
monitoring mechanism for the program. Preparing project information briefs, project updates and presentations for
project partners and consortium which include health department and PWD.
Conducted a research study on "Impact of innovative Strategies on Neonatal Outcomes" for Jhpiego which include: Writing methodology, developing data collection tools and data collection processes and standards, training of enumerators, data management and analysis and submission of final report writing.
Set up a social franchise network allover Pakistan which include identification and training of health service providers, management of operations of the health service provider's network, development of frameworks for quality and compliance, conduct revisions and updated Standard Operating Procedures for the program. Contributed in systems strengthening for social franchising Program by developing a result-based financing scheme and provided technical leadership and strategic support to synchronized other projects funded by DFID, USAID, LAD and RAF. Drafted and disseminated lesson learned based upon real-time monitoring and impact assessment of the country wide program. Ensured competitiveness and sustainability of the program through continuous improvement plan . Prepared and communicated monthly substantive analytical reports along with necessary action plans/ key considerations/ recommendations to country director, head of technical services and project teams for evidence based decision making. Developed and designed program data collection tools, recording and reporting systems, dashboards, donor Reports (Quarterly, Yearly). Managed, supported and trained program operation's teams on critical program implementation areas and field activities.
Collaborated with Marie Stopes International London staff on project updates and performance, and quality compliance. Provided short written briefs and given orientation to Marie Stopes International country program teams . Worked closely with international delegates, consultants on critical areas of the program for technical support.
My responsibilities include the overall management of Project and teams, representation at cluster meetings, planning, implementation and monitoring of activities. Coordination with NGOs, INGOs and liaison with government district administration and health department. Looked after budgeting, Logistics management. Ensured project objectives and project mile stones have been achieved. Provided training, orientation and guidance to project teams for smooth implementation of the project activities.
Managed large emergency Project with successful management of 250 team members. Established Strong relations with district administration and contributed in health system strengthening at district level and become successful in renovating and revitalizing Basic Health Units (BHUs) and optimization of immunization services for local populations and initiated intervention for nutrition.
Managed the grant from Packard and Lucile Foundation on integrated health and education model. Over there, involved in overall operations and management of the project and contribute and carried out participatory research study, developed curriculum for training on life skills based education for adolescents and youth on reproductive health for public and private education institutes. Developed youth entrepreneurs from economically marginalized communities and mobilized CSOs for community support and networking on women empowerment, reproductive health and girls’ education. Managed a complementary project on Mother and Child nutrition issues through project intervention to ensure holistic and multi-sectoral community development model.
Implemented and close out a successful project, due to its successful implementation additional funding was awarded to scale up the project in other districts. Identified and trained local CBOs and CSOs to develop a participatory social action program through CBOs and CSOs for women empowerment, girls' education and reproductive Health issues. Through these CBOs and CSOs, vocational centers for young girls were established and those entrepreneurs became agents for change in the community as they become economically empowered.
Assist regional manager operations in day- to -day affairs of the project at district level. Established robust communication & correspondence with Support Office on project affairs & responding queries regarding smooth implementation of project activities. Consolidated monthly project reports, manage & ensure all the data related to project activities implemented at all sites, review and ensure work plans are acted upon as per agreed timelines. Conducted & facilitated in trainings workshops/seminars, given presentations regarding project progress and achievements to foreign delegates, establish & maintain coordination with stakeholders, line departments, community workers, CBOs and volunteers group regarding project implementation. Management of petty cash, employ records, appraisals and management of teams, communication with all line departments for coordination, press releases and news.
Successfully implemented three interventions under the project, i.e., Demand-side financing scheme (Private Provider Partnership), Community based Distribution of contraceptives (CBD), and management of MSS clinics. To achieve project objectives and service projections, I developed cluster based approach and identified far flung spots/private and public health providing centers in the district to develop a service provision web, where our clinical teams provided services which resulted in achievement of intended service projections and enhanced organizational visibility in the district. This was strategy which was then adopted at national levels after its success.
