I was placed as the internee in the Client Services Department and later shifted to the Creative Department of Interlink Advertising Agency. I was working under the supervision of Mr. Ghayyas Abbasi, General Manager of Business Development Department, generally called the Client Services. It was a six weeks program as compulsory course of the Graduation degree
During the first two weeks of the internship program, I worked in the Business Development Department of the company. There, we were given small assignments, such as doing the research on the business activities and advertisement campaigns of the clients. This research helped the company in bringing on new ideas for the advertisements. I was also told to carry out some errands, like attending calls, filing documents, etc. I, along with other internee, also helped the supervisor and other members of this department in putting together ideas that they would propose to the clients later on during the briefing. After the two weeks, when we had some information about the matters and functions of the organization, we were referred to the Creative Department. We started working in their specialized room, also known as the Studio. As the department changed, my tasks and activities also changed. To help us in understanding how different softwares like Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, etc works, designers at Creative Department gave us samples that we used to copy. Later, when we proved that we can manage working on these softwares, we were given actual work to do. Besides this, we also helped the members of Creative Department in writing press releases and statements. Overall, I will say that we learned many things through practically doing.
