Title: Drowsy Driver Alert System
Technologies used: Android studio, NetBeans IDE, Arduino Uno, Pulse Sensor
Description: A Drowsy Driver Alert System has been implemented by using vision based concepts.
This system of composed of two different modules. One module is camera which will be in front of
driver. The camera will be focusing the face and eyes of driver. The frames taken from face is sent
for processing whether eyes are open or closed. The GMS (google Mobile Services) help us in
finding the open and closed eyes. If eyes are closed for 5 consecutive frames the system consider
this is drowsy and generate an alarm. The second module is the pulse sensor which is attached with
Arduino microprocessor. The pulse sensor is attached either with finger or with earlobes. The
reading from the pulse sensor is taken by the Arduino board. The Arduino board send this reading
to android application with the help of Bluetooth module. When the data is received at the
application the with the help of HRV (heart rate variability) we find the drowsiness and set the
criteria if the heart beat is less the 60bpm and high the n 45bpm. If heart beat if falling in the given
range the system consider that the drive is drowsy and generate an alarm to awake or to alert the
diver.
This is an event organized in our University in which students from all over the pakistan came here for different kind of competition. i was the Head of Code debugging. My responsibility was to register all the teams coming for the competition arrange the PC for the competition and to take the results from each team.
