Gender Coordinator / Officer will perform the following functions, including but not limited to: • Collate baseline data (gender disaggregated) for gender analysis, relevant to the scope and nature of the sub-projects.
• Conduct gender-sensitive analysis for ensuring that the differential needs, constraints, capacities and priorities of women and men are understood and addressed.
• Participate and conduct stakeholder consultations/limited household surveys in the targeted cities on the challenges and issues faced by both men and women particularly vulnerable groups including elderly, women headed households, minorities, people with disabilities and transgender, to enable informed decision-making during project designing.
• Update the gender mainstreaming strategy and gender action framework for the project with a focus on; i) increased women and girls' access to urban spaces; ii) increased women's access to decent employment and economic opportunities; iii) increased women's participation in improving the municipal services both as beneficiaries and as agents of change.
• Provide strategic advice and technical support for integrating gender into the project’s policies.
• Facilitate the Director Gender / Gender Specialist in implementation of the capacity building program for the EAs and IAs.
• Assist in planning and scheduling of KPCIP work plan and identify gender specific aspects and needs in individual sub-projects.
• Set priorities and develop as well as implement a clear and comprehensive action plan for gender related activities thereby contributing to the overall work plan.
• Conduct Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and consultations with the relevant stakeholders in the selected cities to collect information on the existing challenges faced by the cities in relation to urbanization (in general) and pertaining to the scope of the project (in particular) Assist the City Implementation Unit (CIU) and Project Management Unit (PMU) to increase GAD awareness amongst different departments and stakeholders.
• Facilitate and assist in gender analysis of the proposed sub-projects and prepare reports for these subprojects.
• Analyze documents, compile lessons learned and disseminate best practices related to gender mainstreaming at both the CIU and PMU level.
• Liaison with the relevant provincial and district administration for managing GAP in each of the sub-projects.
• Establish and maintain active working relationships with relevant civil society organizations, institutes and academia on gender mainstreaming and women inclusion to strengthen alliances, enhance collaborations, influence priorities, mobilize resources, and develop/implement related interventions.
• Assist in ensuring project monitoring and compliance with donor reporting requirements for GAP. • Assist in generating increase in women involvement in community surveys, feedbacks, and impact evaluations.
• Perform any other tasks / assignment that may be assigned by CIU-WSSC Swat / LGE&RDD GoKP and/or ADB etc
• Formation of Women Community Organizations (WCOs) and Women Village Organization (WVOs)
• Impart Community Management Skill Training (CMST)
• Impart Leadership Management Skill Training (LMST)
• Conduction Youth Development activities at community and Schools level.
• Conduction Exposure visits for communities to different Units and UCs.
• Maintain all file work and record of Trainings and field activities.
• Enterprise distribution and their follow up.
• Poverty Score card data management.
• Adult Literacy Centers opening and their follow up visits.
