As the Logistics Department's leader in the Country, I bear the responsibility of overseeing everyday operations. These include, but are not limited to, Procurement, Warehousing, Fleet Management, Assets and Inventory Management, IT Management, Facilities Management, and Security Management for the Country Office. It falls within my purview to develop and execute the Organization Strategy for 2023 to 2025 for the logistics department. Additionally, I have contributed to the emergency preparedness and Response strategies devised by the team. My strategic vision has facilitated the organization to introduce information systems for digitizing Logistics and HR procedures.
Overseen operations in Pakistan for flood-affected areas, in addition to managing the National TB Control Program in 132 districts throughout the country. My extensive portfolio includes the management of procurement, customs clearance, logistics, warehousing, facilities, assets and inventory, IT, administration, and infrastructure rehabilitation. We have successfully completed most grants for early response and recovery programs and are actively transitioning towards disaster preparedness while placing a strong emphasis on climate change adaptation. To align with our climate change strategy, our organization is aggressively pursuing a paperless environment and automating existing systems. In 2023, I spearheaded the roll-out of SAP Ariba system for procurement automation, and successfully navigated the initial implementation challenges faced by myself and my team. As a result of our efforts, the system is now fully functional, and our teams feel considerably more at ease using it.
Senior Leadership role in the Hotels & tourism company where I am managing day to day operations of 35 hotels across the country along with several groups Tours nationally and internationally. Managed the teams in Head Office and at the outlets to ensure business continuity. Facilitated Audit and submitted tax return to comply with statutory requirements as per companies’ ordinance. Ensured Team Capacity Building in management of Hotels and Tour operations segments.
Developed Procurement, Warehouse and Fleet Management manual for various small-scale organizations.
Built the capacity of the civil society organizations for Procurement, Warehousing, Fleet and Administration in Karachi Pakistan. These CSOs were the sub recipients of the USAID/ OTI small grants for youth specific initiatives in the country under Pakistan Transition Initiative. During the tenure of my consultancy, around 73 organizations were facilitated for the sector specific trainings.
Being the senior member of the management team at Creative, I was responsible for the timely procurement of goods and services for the Pakistan Transition Initiative. Devising Supply chain strategy and managing day to day operations was my responsibility in the capacity of Procurement Coordinator. Capacity building of Partner Organizations and staff remained my top priority during the tenure. Close out of the Program was also completed by myself in the last days of my job at the Creative. Everything related to grants and procurement was dispatched to Home Office while ensuring the completion of the payments to the vendors and service providers.
Managed logistics and procurement at Save the Children in Emergency Response program and ensured quality support in the emergency and recovery phases of the program. I managed a huge portfolio of funding at SC as the value of goods and Services procured in emergency phase was over 160 million dollars. During the emergency phase, completion of the procurement and hiring of vehicles to transport the goods and staff to the filed was completed with quality. Around 36 Warehouses in the country were managed to ensure quality support. Majority of startups were completed by me in Swat, DI Khan, Sindh and Punjab areas. In the initial phase of emergency, several field offices were opened and facilitated by me.
Manage Logistics and Central Warehouse to support joint operations of Red Cross & Red Crescent movement in the aftermath of earthquake response 2005. Extended quality support to various national societies from the IFRC Logistics Centre which includes German Red Cross, French Red Cross, Canadian Red Cross, Danish Red Cross, British Red Cross, and various other. Facilitated the training to build the capacity of National, Provincial and District Disaster Response Teams in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta. During tenure of service, I also responded to Earthquake in Quetta & Pashin 2008 and Malakand IDP response 2009.
Supervised Logistics and procurement for the IDP Camps and project sites as per requests generated by the health program. Ensured availability of all kind of stuff including medicines, medical and surgical equipment, communication equipment and food as per requirement at the P- sites. Managed a team of 25 members at the Neelam Valley Project sites and IDP camps in Muzafarabad. During the tenure of my service, I also responded to Flood 2007 response in Jhal Magsi Baluchistan and provided quality support.
Supervised the support services departments– Logistics, Warehousing, Fleet, Finance & Administrations, Procurement, and Information Technology. Managed Support Services for the construction of 5000 houses, 350 schools and 182 Water Supply Schemes in the Earthquake affected area of Kashmir and Hazara regions. This was a huge project where the material cost was more than one billion rupees. The quality of the houses and schools was highly appreciated by Donors and ERRA visitors.
Supervised the procurement of goods and services for a four-star hotel from the local and national markets. Developed the systems in Purchasing and Store department. Cleared the backlog and streamlined the records for stores issue and receipts. Receiving Reports and Cost Reports were generated to rectify errors and omission in proceeding periods.
Procured various goods and services for the five-star hotel’s operations which includes Food items– Groceries, perishables, meats, general items, cleaning supplies, Engineering tools & equipment, Civil works, Repair & Maintenance services for central AC and Audio Visual etc. Learned new approaches from the Managers and Mentors working at different levels.
