Programme Description:
Sehat Tahafuz, Pakistan’s pioneering precision safety net, has completed its inaugural three-year tenure and officially concluded operations on June 30, 2024. This patient-centric program was designed to assist individuals facing one-time catastrophic health expenditures beyond their means.
During its active phase, Sehat Tahafuz operated effectively in 19 hospitals across Pakistan. It provided coverage for pre-approved treatment packages aimed at alleviating financial burdens on deserving patients not covered by the Sehat Sahulat. Eligibility for assistance was determined through income assessments, poverty profiling, and evaluating the extent of the health expenditure relative to income.
To facilitate seamless operations, a dedicated software system was developed. This software managed service requests, allocation of funds, and monitored the utilization and effectiveness of donations. Special features ensured transparency for donors, enabling them to track fund usage and outcomes.
Throughout its tenure, Sehat Tahafuz expanded to cover approximately 900 treatment packages across 21 departments in 19 hospitals. The program also allowed flexibility for empaneled hospitals to request the addition of new departments and treatment packages as needed.

Job Description:
1. Verification and Documentation:

Verify patient availability in the hospital by visiting bedside and outpatient blocks.
Authenticate patient identity and medical documents based on online requests from
registered doctors.
Record patient data according to diagnosis/disease specified by the doctor in online
requests.

2. Socioeconomic Assessment:

Utilize PMT score derived from BISP Database to assess socioeconomic status.
Conduct NSER (National Socio-Economic Survey) for patients not present in BISP Database using provided tablets.

3. Data Entry and Reporting:

Input patient details into Sehat Tahafuz online portal including personal information, address, contact number, and scanned copies of identity and medical documents.
Ensure completion of all activities within one hour and submit patient requests to PMU Sehat Tahafuz Program for further processing.

4. Coordination:

Collaborate with hospital Focal Person for procurement arrangements of medicines and operation necessities.
Verify quantity and quality of procured items with hospital pharmacist and vendors.
Monitor consumption of medicines and disposables by patients or their attendants.

5. Patient Satisfaction and Financial Coordination:

Conduct satisfaction surveys for patients treated under Sehat Tahafuz program.
Coordinate with hospital Finance department for compiling necessary documentation related to treated patients.
Verify patients' claim invoices before submission to Sehat Tahafuz PMU.


6. Special Task - Liver and Kidney Transplant Patients:

Assess and investigate liver transplant patients whose transplantation is confirmed but are in a pending state due to the inability to afford the medicines and disposables used during transplant operations and ICU stay, which cost approximately 250,000 to 300,000 rupees.
Assess their financial status by conducting interviews and obtaining their socioeconomic scoring with the help of BISP NSER.
Upon approval of the case, ensure liver transplant and kidney transplant patients receive their costly medicines used during transplantation from the Sehat Tahafuz Program.

7. Special Task - Cochlear Implant Surgery for Deaf and Dumb Children:
Entertain by birth deaf and dumb children below 5 years of age for a special surgery, Cochlear Implant, which provides hearing ability. The surgery costs between 1.5 million to 2.5 million rupees. Assess their financial status by conducting interviews and obtaining their socioeconomic scoring with the help of BISP NSER.
Upon approval of the case from Sehat Tahafuz PMU, ensure the child undergoes critical surgery performed by specialized cochlear implant surgeons, with the entire process cost covered by the Sehat Tahafuz Program.

related equipment
 Maintains personal records and prepares a variety of personal documents
