Assist in training and mentoring newer GIS staff members
• Meet with departmental staff to identify and analyze user requirements for GIS applications
• Operate GIS-specific hardware including large format plotters and scanners
• Serves as a technical resource for other GIS staff; May lead a small team for training and mentorship
• Extract and organize data

 Analyzing data acquired from satellite using statistical analysis software and image analysis software
 Building database for remote sensing, preparing presentation of geospatial project information, satellite
imagery to create product like land cover maps, collecting the supporting data like climate or field survey data
 Participating in field work, and organizing and maintaining geospatial data
 Creating and presenting the technical reports for all the findings in the fieldwork
 Research legal descriptions and survey maps to verify property lines and gather requisite information for
mapping

over the globe.
 Detailed literature analysis on role of convective available potential energy (CAPE) in controlling seasonal
precipitation and temperature patterns over the globe in changing climate.
 Downloading and manipulating of various types of meteorological data in multiple formats including
remotely sensed and Geographic Information System (GIS) based data.
 Presentation of data in form of thematic maps employing numerous ArcGIS tools.
