By qualification a Master degree holder in Social Sciences (Anthropology), from University of Peshawar in 2005 – 06, with 16+ years of professional experience in Humanitarian sector mostly worked in Emergency responses, recovery/rehabilitation and development phases. The career in Humanitarian sector was started in post-Earthquake 2005 scenario, followed by flood 2010 operations, Complex Emergencies in Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) situations in the Merged Districts of KP and Flood 2022 operations.


In my professional career, worked with different UN Agencies (UN-Habitat and FAO), International Organizations and National NGOs at different capacities (Social Mobilization Expert, District Team Leader, Field Coordinator, National Programme Manager, Deputy Project Coordinator, and Project Coordinator/Lead) and played a key role in the implementation of multi-sectoral projects i.e., Shelter/Housing reconstruction Programme in Earthquake – 2005 and Flood – 2010 affected areas, Rehabilitation of Community Infrastructures and WASH projects in Flood – 2010 affected areas (with UN-Habitat), Shelter, NFIs, Primary Health Care Services, Protection case management and grievance redressal, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of services facilities and infrastructures, Governance & Role of Law projects in the Merged Districts under IDPs Complex Emergency Response (with EHSAR Foundation), and Restoration of Agriculture based Food Security and Livelihood projects (with FAO), in the Merged Districts of KP during the IDPs Complex Emergency and Flood – 2022 responses.


Despite of the above, the incumbent has a variety of skills developed during professional career, and having excellent command on Programme management, resource mobilization, proposal writing, budgeting & resource management, operations, project planning and implementation, social mobilization, community development, Gender mainstreaming, coordination, communication, monitoring, and reporting.

 In my role, I successfully implemented three projects under the supervision of the FAO Representative and direct supervision of the International Programme Coordinator, collaborating closely with the technical team. These projects included the FCDO funded project ‘Restoration of livelihood in Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with a budget of US$ 11.98 million (Mar 2019 to Mar 2021), the USAID funded project “Restoring subsistence and commercial Agriculture in FATA with a budget of US$ 10.3 million (Apr 2021 to Mar 2022 and the USAID funded project “The Horticulture Advancement Activity (THAzA) at KP, with a budget of US$ 5.53 million (Apr 2022 to Dec 2022).
Major Responsibilities and Achievement:
1.      PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Responsible for all aspects of project management, including planning, implementation, coordination, resource management, and reporting.
Liaised and coordinated with the Government line departments’ District Authorities, relevant partners and stakeholders for project implementation.
Prepared and updated work plans and budget in coordination with the technical team and IPC.
Supervised district teams, built their capacity and provided support during project implementation.
Ensured effective and efficient planning, implementation, and monitoring.
Ensured timely and coordinated implementation of the projects’ activities as per the agreed work plan.
Undertook follow-up action on advocacy and programme implementation activities, prepared progress reports and contributed to teamwork.

Managed contracts with the vendors and suppliers, assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.

Oversaw the financial resources allocated to each project and managed expenditures accordingly.
Predicted resource needs and managed resources efficiently.
Prepared budgets, based on scope of work and resource requirements.
Tracked project costs to ensure adherence to the budget.

3.     RESOURCE MOBILIZATION

Worked as a member of the Resource Mobilization team at the KP office.
Assisted senior management in drafting project concept notes and proposals, including subsequent revision.
Prepared detailed budgets for new projects, get approved from HQ and submitted to potential donors, followed by revision if recommended.
Maintained close coordination with the funding agencies/donors and ensured follow-up on submitted projects.

National Programme Manager perform a wide range of duties & responsibilities including some OR all of the following;
A.    Plan the Programme

Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization.
Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization.
Develop and implement long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program.
Develop an annual budget and operating plan to support the program.
Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement.

B.     Organize the Programme

C.     Human Resource Management

Ensure the Implementation of the human resource policies, procedures and practices of the organization.
Ensure that personnel files for the program are properly maintained and kept confidential.
Establish and implement a performance management process for all program staffs.
Engage volunteers for appropriate program activities using established volunteer management practices.
Ensure that all program staffs receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the programs.

D.    Lead the Programme

Ensure all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational standards.
Supervise program staff by providing direction, input and feedback.
Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the program and to solicit input to improve the program.
Liaise with other managers to ensure the effective and efficient program delivery.
Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.

E.     Control the Programme

Write reports on the program for Executives and for donors.
Communicate with funders as outlined in funding agreements.
Ensure that the program operate within the approved budget.
Monitor and approve all budgeted program expenditures jointly with Executive Director.
Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to the Executive Director on a regular basis (monthly/bi-monthly).
Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures.
Ensure that all financial records for the program are up to date.
Ensure financial reports and supporting documentation for funders are prepared as outlined in funding agreements.
Provide required information to have invoices generated and submitted to funders according to the established timelines.
Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks.
Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and conduct an annual evaluation according to the program evaluation framework.
Report evaluation findings to the Executive Director and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate.
