Khalid is currently working with the tax department of EY Saudi Arabia Jeddah office on secondment of EY Pakistan since March 2019. His role and functions include:
 § preparation of final declarations of income tax and zakat for various multinational and local clients of EY in accordance with the tax/zakat laws and regulations as applicable in Saudi Arabia;
§ assistance in attestation engagements of the tax/zakat final declarations involving preparation of expense analysis, performing transaction testing and ledger scanning, reviewing contracts, verifying compliance with General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), preparing related documents and uploading on EYCanvas tool;
§ preparation of quarterly and year-end tax/zakat provisions and supporting schedules such as supporting schedules, component analysis, ending deferred balances, footnotes and estimates files to summarize potential payments;
§ assistance in preparation of responses to queries raised by the tax/zakat authorities, filing of appeals with the tax/zakat appellate committees and assisting in advisory on tax assessments, related controversy aspects and alternative dispute resolution with the tax/zakat authorities through preparing tax exposures, reconciliations, assessment analysis, compiling supporting tax documentation, referencing, analyzing variances and creating summaries to support conclusions; and
§ performing other miscellaneous functions such as supporting managers in client management on Mercury from creating opportunities to opening engagement codes, processing client and engagement acceptance using PACE tool, creating workspace and documentation management on EYInteract, documentation of attestation engagements of final declaration and transfer pricing on EYCanvas tool, drafting Letters and preparing Statement of Work.

During his tenure at EY Islamabad, he assisted senior management on various tax advisory, tax compliance and reporting services. His functions included:
 § preparation and filing of annual income tax returns of various corporate and individual clients as per the Income-tax laws and rules, on IRIS web portal of the federal board of revenue;
§ providing Withholding Tax Compliance services to various corporate clients of EY. His functions included performing weekly tax computations, tax payments processing, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and highlighting compliance issues, monthly filing of Statement of Withholding Tax with regulatory bodies of different jurisdictions on IRIS portal and issuance of tax deduction certificates to vendors; and
§ assistance in preparation of replies to notices from tax authorities and preparing responses to appeal proceedings at the appellate forum for EY Islamabad office clients. His functions included making comments, referencing, analyzing variances and creating summaries to support conclusions.
He worked as a specialist in Payroll & Benefits Administration for Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited "Jazz" in Pakistan on the engagement of Global Compliance & Reporting department of EY Islamabad for more than 8 months. His role was to ensure swift and timely support to the concerned stakeholders in matters related to employee benefits. 
He worked as Withholding Tax Consultant consultant at Pakistan Telecom Mobile limited "Ufone" for more than eight months.
