He has worked as a Project Coordinator, Senior Coordinator (2022 Flood Emergency), District Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Team Leader, Consultant to government projects, and Technical Officer (Civil Engineer). He has diversified work experience with Community Infrastructure engineering, agrarian, fishing, farming, labor, and livelihood support for small business grants during his work with UN-IOM, Chemonics, CFC Pakistan, iMMAP, Cesvi, and Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum. With over 11 years of work experience, he has managed emergency responses to Cyclones, Riverine floods, flash floods, droughts, and earthquakes in Pakistan, followed by Rescue, Relief, Early Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Development phases. He has been implementing and evaluating DRR, School safety, livelihoods, employability and entrepreneurship, climate change, private sector engagement, irrigation water governance, WASH, education-related long-term, multi-partner, and multi-province programs and projects. He has rich experience in strategic planning, program development, implementation, and donor relations. He has successfully implemented various campaigns and influencing initiatives nationally. Mr. Younis is a certified trainer on CCCM, PSAIT, and MIRA courses organized by UN IOM Pakistan in 2016. He has conducted training on DRR, shelter construction with lime stabilization, school safety, WASH, irrigation water governance, rights-based approach, influencing, human rights, CBDRM, climate change, HAP, safeguarding, tax justice, election rules and processes, school improvement plan and grant, farmer's field training school, local bodies, and citizen’s budget. He has experience and skills in coordination with government officials/stakeholders, monitoring and evaluation, training and development, team player, enjoys working under strict deadlines and stretching conditions, conflict management, quality report writing, strong leadership, and communication skills.
As the Hub Coordinator, I am responsible for overseeing the Sindh Housing Recovery and Reconstruction Platform (SHRRP) as well Shelter Sector Pakistan Coordination, which unites all stakeholders engaged in supporting the Sindh People’s Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF) in the housing reconstruction and settlement recovery process. SHRRP's goal is to ensure that flood-affected families live in resilient homes and communities in Sindh. I provide support to SPHF in strategic planning, coordination, and cooperation with national and international organizations, the private sector, and public associations involved in the post-flood housing recovery process. As Sector Coordinator within the Pakistan Shelter Sector, I am responsible for leading and coordinating shelter-related activities in response to humanitarian crises, with a particular focus on disaster-affected populations. My role involves facilitating sector coordination meetings to ensure alignment with national policies and humanitarian standards. I develop and implement strategic plans and operational frameworks for shelter interventions, ensuring their effective implementation and adherence to technical guidelines. Additionally, I conduct capacity building for sector partners on shelter issues, advocate for gender-sensitive approaches, and represent the sector in key forums. Managing information systems for data collection and reporting, contributing to emergency preparedness plans, and conducting assessments for timely responses are also integral aspects of my responsibilities. This position demands strong leadership, coordination skills, and a steadfast commitment to humanitarian principles and standards in shelter programming.Coordinate the implementation of the activities required for the successful completion of the Shelter & Non-food items (NFIs) projects, following closely the donor(s) requirements and the directions of the supervisor. Project Description: The Natural Disasters Consortium (NDC) comprising IOM, FAO, UNICEF, ACTED, HANDS and CONCERN WW, works across the country implementing preparedness, response and recovery interventions which include all kinds of disasters from 2015 to 2021 in Pakistan Whereas 2015 flood response in Sindh and Punjab, 2018 Drought and Heatwave response in 7 districts of Sindh, 2019 COVID-19 prevention awareness sessions and WASH intervention in Urban areas of 15 districts all over Pakistan. Through multi-sector activities, the NDC works towards building communities’ resilience to future shocks by enhancing household skills, spearheading community initiatives and empowering beneficiaries to reconstruct, As part of its resilience and recovery programming, the Consortium, through ACTED and HANDS, has supported 6,000 vulnerable households in disaster-prone areas of Jhang, Muzaffargarh, Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana, Qamber Shahdadkot, Kashmore, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar and Ghotki), Shangla, Chitral. The multi-sector, integrated assistance provided in these communities includes Shelter, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and food security and livelihoods. Similar multi-sector interventions are being conducted for over 3,000 disaster-affected families in disaster-prone areas and in Shangla Heritage Foundation utilized vernacular building materials that directly assisted 200 households in the construction of earthquake-resilient shelters.

Researches in MYHP:
In this context of Shelter research, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as the national lead shelter agency in Pakistan and with support from the United Kingdom Department for International Development (DFID), commissioned Arup in 2016-17 to conduct an independent research study to evaluate the effectiveness of the agency implemented shelters in order to inform a consolidated set of shelter designs and guidance on how to select an appropriate design for future shelter programs. It is intended that this research should establish a scientific basis for evaluation and enable evidence based decision making. IOM technical team played a key role in this research,
