Matthews-Daniel International (MDI) is a leading International Risk Survey and Inspection Co. MDI's Head Office is based in London. In Saudi Arabia, the Regional Office is based in Riyadh while the branches being in Jeddah and Dammam. I was based in Riyadh. Normal routine working comprised the following responsibilities

Administrative Matters
To look after all the administrative matters related to any of the three branches in Saudi Arabia including work, family or visit visas, travel letters, office administration, driving licenses, etc.

Debt chasing
I was able to make long outstanding recoveries possible from all the agencies in respect of MDI's fees / invoices etc. by carrying out the follow up processes (telephone calls, messages, faxes and meetings etc).

Maintenance of Company Accounts

Keeping the Company accounts in order, by means of coordination and reconciliations of the accounts with the Accounts Department. The Accounts Department was based in Jeddah.

After around six months, a new company was established named Olayan Food Services and my services were shifted for the establishment of that company where I worked for over three years until I got an offer from Matthews-Daniel International.

While working with the General Manager Olayan Food Services Company, I used to carry out all the Executive Secretarys responsibilities including filing, scheduling, correspondence and all the related activities.

In addition to the above, my responsibilities included the maintenance of an inventory record for Burger King Restaurants and ensuring the availability of all the stuff required for a smooth operation of Seven (in those days) outlets. Another responsibility of preparing the daily, monthly and quarterly sales summary was also included in my responsibilities.

COMMENTS

I have an excellent knowledge and expertise in maintaining the records, filing and other secretarial activities. Since I have been working in the operations of telephone switchboards/consoles, I have the knowledge and am able to create the phone manners and etiquettes. I am used to use all types of office machines e.g. facsimile machines, photo copiers, scanners, binding cutting equipment etc.

I am fully conversant with the computers as far as working with the software is concerned. I have been working in Word Star, WordPerfect, AmiPro, Lotus 123, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Outlook Windows etc.

Positive Traits Willing to learn and strive to hit the targets. Calm working. Habitual to carry out the assignments under pressures.
