I am a qualified B.SC (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING) possess knowledge with comprehensive understanding of Hydro Power Generation. Having more than 5 years experience in Hydro Power generation sector.

Currently I am working at 7.64MW Maralla Hydro Power Plant, Sialkot. My responsibilities are to support the running and operation of power house by resolving breakdowns and by delivering maintenance through mobilisation of maintenance team quickly. I play my role for the improvement across the power house in terms of hygiene, quality, and performance. I carried out maintenance across the power house in both a low care and high care environments. Attend to breakdowns onsite ensuring that there is always a rapid response and that plant equipment and machinery breakdown time is minimised. Always endeavour to reduce downtime of plant and carry out repairs to the plant and equipment during production, effectively and efficiently through effective leadership and being part of the team.
To ensure that there are pro-active approaches to planned maintenance and a high better output. Deliver on plant up time and maintenance KPI’s through planned, preventative & predictive maintenance. Deliver improvement work on machinery and site improvement work and ensure Engineering time is managed effectively and that that there is low Engineering down-time and improve OEE. To maintain daily reports and logs. Ensure works are completed on time. Liaise effectively with external contractors. Able to operate the effluent treatment plant when require. Willing to learn new skills (on and off the job) and train others if and when required. Represent the O&M team in production meetings and contribute to effective communication within the team. I make sure that there is good reporting and communication channels internally and externally of power house. Develop and maintain good professional working relationship with all the stakeholders.
Pakpattan Hydropower Plant is a low head, 2.8MW, run of the river type hydro power plant consist of two Kaplan turbine having 4.2 meters head, located at pakpattan canal, 12KM from Pakpattan City.
My Responsibilities as Shift Engineer:
To supervise all aspects of plant operations during assigned shift effectively.
Provide direction to plant operators. To keep the effective communication with Grid station, Irrigation Department ,PPDCL (client) EPC Contractor as well during and after duty hours when require. Ensure plant is operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner according to the SOPs. To ensure that superior knowledge of the operating principles of equipment and machinery is used in the power plant.
Ensure safe start up, shut down/emergency shut down and tackle any other emergency situation at the plant. To implement SOPs for all types of planned, predictive and corrective maintenance. To make a the SOPs for effective O&M of the plant where require.
To keep the communication with other departments at power plant.
Willing to learn new skills (on and off the job) and train others if and when required. Represent the O&M team in production meetings and contribute to effective communication within the team
Served at the Pakpattan Hyropower Project 2.8 MW, as I was part of the crew for installation of Mechanical equipment of this project. And then worked as a member of operation and maintenance staff.
My responsibilities were to coordinate with operators and management regarding O&M of the plant, to coordinate with client (PPDCL) and Consultant (Punjab Hydropower Consultants). To witness the commissioning phase of the plant.
Moreover I have gotten training of TG Unit, Governor, Technical Water Supply System, Dewatering System, Drainage water System, Lubrication System, C&I System, Intake Stop-log, Draft Tube Roller Gate, Spillway Stop-log, Trash Rack cleaning Machine, Bridge Crane and Operation of Unit from Chinese personal of Sinotec and Synohydro.
2.8 MW Pakpattan Hydro Power Project is run of the river type small hydro power plant under supervision of PPMU. During my service at the plant I had supervised the E&M team for installation of equipment. To make daily, weekly and monthly progress reports of the erection. Installation of equipment consist of two TG units ( Kaplan Turbine, main shaft, thrust bearing, oil head, gear box, generator etc). radial spillway gates with hydraulic facility . Installation of25/5 Ton overhead crane. Installation of auxiliary which include cooling water system, lubrication system for bearing and gear box, dewatering system and workshop machines. I used to Inspect the machinery and equipment before erection. Coordination client Punjab Power Management Unit and Punjab Hydro Power Consultants to insure proper documentation of equipment during installation process.
