Major Responsibilities:
• Develop, review and implement animal health program to maintain good health
• Develop and manage the mating program to ensure mating targets are reached
• Manage calving and the calf rearing program to achieve minimal losses and ensure high quality replacements are available for the herd
• Setting and management of vaccination program of the dairy herd for ensuring disease control
• Expert in dairy animal disease diagnoses, treatment and control.
• Plan and allocate feed using feed budgeting techniques to achieve production targets
• Develop and implement an annual nutrient management plan, with the fertilizer supplier
• Ensure effective management of all aspects of the milking process, including plant hygiene and somatic cell count, to maintain grade free standards.
• Liaise with key rural professionals e.g. vet, fertilizer rep, stock agents and contractors to ensure smooth operation of the farm
• Develop, review and manage repairs and maintenance schedule for all plant, machinery and infrastructure
• Ensure all herd records are maintained
• Adhere to all relevant animal welfare codes.
• Recruitment and selection of staff
• Supervise day-to-day activity, organize rosters and schedule tasks/activities that need to be undertaken
Major Responsibilities:
• Capacity building of rural farmers through various trainings for income enhancement and improved livelihood
• Conduction of need assessment exercise, identification and prioritization through PRA tools and techniques.
• Technically assisted monitoring and evaluation unit in developing case studies
• Develop specific Criteria’s to identify the poorest women for distribution of assets
• To ensure smooth procurement and distribution of all the assets i.e. Buffaloes, feed mixtures, Rhode grass seed
• Assist in distribution planning. Ensure monitoring and reporting on development in livestock restocking.
• Assist in establishing the Farmer’s Milk Cooperatives (FMCs) in district Vehari and Muzaffargarh
• To ensure linkages of FMCs with different stakeholders
• Quarantine of large and small ruminants in order to ensure health plus production status and specific breed before handling over to community.
• Development of linkages with Government Animal Husbandry Department and various veterinary institutes of Pakistan.
• Prepare letters of agreement and contracts for distribution and monitoring
• Technical feedback to country office during annual planning and budgeting
• Assist in the preparation of reports including final report. Perform other related duties, as assigned

• Develop specific Criteria’s to identify the poorest women for distribution of assets
• Conduct Village and Household surveys to ensure identification of deserving Women
• Preventive health measure e.g. deworming, vaccination, biosecurity, quarantine measures and treatment and management of viral, bacterial, parasitic, metabolic and other general diseases and surgical conditions
• Dairy farm, fattening farm and fodder production, value addition in agro-livestock products consultancy andthen link them with concerned stakeholders
• Least cost concentrate, feed and mineral mixture formulation, hay and silage making, modern trends infeeding the animals, modern agronomical practices for fodder cultivation around the year
• Market linkages development with livestock industry stake holders and business development of project beneficiaries
