I am working as Project Coordinator-MM and NBSAP Projects at IUCN. My overall responsibility is to implement various MM Project activities with the collaboration of various partners, stakeholders and communities to integrate sustainable harvesting and utilization of NTFP into the livelihood of the communities so that they can reap the maximum benefits of the NTFPs in the current challenging issues of global climate change, water resource issues, and development pressures.
Furthermore, in NBSAP Project I've contributed to the preparation and submission of 5th National Report of Pakistan to CBD after thorough national consultation. Also I'm looking after and contributing to the various activities for the revision of National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plan (NBSAP).
Before that I was appointed as Project Coordinator-Murree Biodiversity Park, IUCN and my overall responsibility was to establish and make the Murree Biodiversity Park fully functional. The project has been completed successfully.
One of the key objectives was to provide input and support to the provincial government in meeting the obligations under Kyoto protocol through the project.
Before joining IUCN, I worked in the Provincial Forest Department at middle administrative and managerial level. I was a government employee. In my job I had dealt with the both, fieldwork as well as office work. In field I practically assured the execution of Government projects/tasks assigned to me, well on time and on a specific described pattern and manner. I also guided my field formations to achieve different physical and financial targets/objectives assigned by the higher officials according to National Policy.
