IP Engineer (Intern) at Huawei Pakistan
As an IP Engineer Intern at Huawei Pakistan, I contributed to the testing and implementation of the Web Monitoring System (WMS) for the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). This project involved routing all internet traffic through Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) systems installed on Huawei Virtual Bypass Platforms (VBPs), ensuring compliance with government policies and enabling traffic flow monitoring.
Key responsibilities included:
- DPI Bypass Testing: Assisted in testing DPI systems to monitor and control traffic flow across national telecom networks.
- OTT Blocking/Unblocking: Played a role in testing the blocking and unblocking of Over-the-Top (OTT) services such as VoIP applications.
- Traffic Flow Analysis: Monitored bandwidth usage of apps and analyzed VoIP traffic to assess performance.
- NE40E Routers Configuration: Worked with NE40E routers to ensure optimized traffic routing and policy implementation.
- Reporting and Analysis: Collaborated on generating reports and conducting analyses on traffic flow, bandwidth usage, and system performance.
- System Health Checks: Participated in system health check activities at Noor Khan Airbase, specifically related to the Defence Communication (DefCom) system.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Worked closely with a multi-functional team to ensure successful project execution.

This role provided valuable exposure to network security, traffic optimization, and the implementation of national-level communication infrastructure.

During my 2023 internship at Pakistan Telecommunication Limited (PTCL) in the CDDT building, Islamabad, I gained hands-on experience in various departments. In the Network Operation Centre (NOC), I monitored network performance, troubleshooted issues, and assisted in incident management. At the Pakistan Internet Exchange (PIE), I analyzed internet traffic patterns and learned about peering processes. In the IPTV department, I configured and provisioned services while troubleshooting issues. My time in IMBB involved supporting customers with broadband problems and optimizing performance. In the Security Operations Centre (SOC), I monitored security alerts and assisted in incident response. This comprehensive experience enhanced my understanding of telecommunications and networking, preparing me for a career in IT networking and as a firewall network engineer.

Wireless Domain Intern at LCC Telecom 
During my internship at LCC Telecom in 2021, I worked in the wireless domain, gaining hands-on experience in mobile network operations and troubleshooting. The internship involved visiting various Ufone Base Transceiver Station (BTS) complaint sites to resolve technical issues and ensure optimal performance.
Key responsibilities included:
- BTS Site Visits: Conducted site visits to Ufone BTS complaint locations in Bahria Town Phase 7 and 8, Rawalpindi, to diagnose and troubleshoot network issues.
- Antenna Alignment: Assisted in checking the mechanical and electrical alignment of antennas using tools like compasses to ensure correct orientation and coverage.
- Customer Complaint Resolution: Participated in resolving customer complaints related to network connectivity and performance by identifying and fixing BTS-related issues.
- Rigger Supervision: Observed riggers as they worked on fixing mechanical and technical issues at BTS sites, including antenna realignment and equipment checks.
- Technical Learning: Gained practical knowledge of how mobile networks operate at the field level, with a focus on network optimization and maintenance.

This experience provided me with a solid understanding of wireless network infrastructure, antenna configurations, and the practical challenges faced in maintaining reliable mobile communication systems.
