nonproductive days to reduce overhead cost.

Lines WIP, Assigned Production Target on the basis of Production
Capacity at forging shop. Planned & Developed 25% finish stock to avoid
customer supply delay. Defined Tooling safety stock on the basis of
monthly consumption from last 3-month tooling consumption data.
▪ Productivity Enhancement: Increased Productivity 9% at Kick Starter Line,
60% at SPM-16 (Drilling, Tapping & Chamfering M/C), 35% at SPM-07 (6
Holes drilling M/C). Reduce Material travel distance T/L 125 24% by layout
Improvement.
▪ Quality Improvement: 60-65% Reduced rework & rejection of Spindle
from grinding at T/L Spindle by replacing the Grinding wheel from grain
size 60 to 80.
▪ Cost saving: Saved 0.5M by Reducing PS-70 Rejection from 12% to 0.15%
by changing the manufacturing process from cold forging to hot forging
process, also reducing lead time from 3 days to 4 hours from Raw material
cutting to forging process.
