Construction management of four projects across Karachi and Lahore. Leading a team (8 members) out of engineers, architect and quantity surveyor, site supervisors. Main role is coordination between consultants and contractors for smooth running of projects' progress. Processing tenders, awarding of contracts, monitoring physical progress and reporting, coordination with partners in paying off the running bills of contractors, suppliers and consultants. Mentoring team in developing weekly, monthly look aheads and detailed schedules on projects vis-a-vis developing progress reports.
Overall management of a cross border project worth 2.8 Million Euro between Tajikistan and Afghanistan that included construction of 28 water supply systems and over 800 improved sanitation systems supported with health and hygiene educations sessions (CHAST & PHAST), over 20 diasater mitigation measures (construction of vehicular and pedestrian bridges, breast walls, gabions and public latrines), exchange visits. The project benefited more than 16000 souls across the border in terms of safe drking water improved living conditions and enhanced level of knowledge and skills.
Being head of the BACIP Program, Mr. Shah successfully managed projects funded by various donors such as UNDP, World Bank (Japan Social Development Fund), European Union, Austrian Development Cooperation, CIDA, USAID, Environment Protection Agency-USA, Finland Embassy, and Climate Care Trust Limited-UK. One of the major and important assignments undertaken by him was the management of a multi input and multi country project funded by the European Union. The project consisted of 30 Safe driking water systems, 1800 improved Sanitation systems, seismic retrofitting of 10 public building & 120 housing units, 240 PHAST and 380 CHAST sessions, and was implemented in Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral of Pakistan and the GBAO region of Tajikistan.
Mr. Shah has also successfully managed the projects under public private partnership (PPP) funded by the KfW and the royal Norwegian Embassy Islamabad
Mr. Shah has the privilege and takes pride to have led this awards winning program such as Ashden Awards 2011, Global Leadership Award 2009 for clean indoor air, Energy Globe Award 2008, UN Habitat Award 2006 and Al Can Prize for sustainability 2005.
I was part of the senior management team directly reporting to vice chancellor. I was head of the department and responsible for construction management of the new buildings of various departments, laboratories, recreational centres, hostels, cafeterias, generator rooms, metalled roads, the Kosar lake, security check posts uninterrupted power supply for the campus. As head of the department I was representing KIU at Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Planning Commision Islamabad while presenting PC-1 on new projecrs. I was the key person on reporting progress on construction projercts to Planning Commission at Islamabad.
As head of Building and Construction Improvement Program successfully managed the European Commission funded project " Entrepreneurs' Training for Employment Generation" that was implemented in two valleys of Gilgit Baltistan (Ishkoman & Chipursan) and one valley in Chitral of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The project started on September 2004 and concluded in February 2007.
