Working with Development/humanitarian sector for more than 12 years in humanitarian response, transitional development assistance with triple nexus approach, Agriculture Development, Food and nutrition Security, WASH, Cash Assistance, cash for work, health vouchers, mother and child nutrition and livelihood restoration. Got opportunity to work with renowned organizations in Pakistan working in partnership of UN agencies, international donors and government.


Right now, I am working with Welthungerhilfe-WHH a German organization as head of two provinces and looking multi provinces project on emergency response through WASH, NFIs, Shelter, Cash Assistance and agriculture input. Apart from that I am also looking into the climate smart agriculture, livelihood, food security, nutrition and WASH project. I alos lead the grant management, consortiums and coordinator with government departments and other stakeholders. WHH is working through partners, so I do the technical backstopping, field monitoring and partnership management.


 I Have been engaged in cross-partner technical working groups of shelter, WASH, food security, and agriculture. I have been providing technical backstopping to the consortium partners in the emergency project. Donor compliance and coordination with government departments are part of my role.

I am responsible for managing ongoing projects in Pakistan, especially in the provinces of Sindh and Baluchistan. As a head of projects, I provide technical backstopping to partner organizations in ongoing emergency response projects (Cash and voucher assistance, multipurpose cash assistance, CASH for work, and conditional cash grants) and support the development of permanent and temporary shelter and WASH infrastructure guidelines. I am responsible for providing a regular technical exchange of knowledge with consortium partners and implementing partners to promote an inclusive and transparent decision-making process; develop and support, whenever possible, harmonized tools, approaches, guidelines, and procedures for emergency humanitarian response projects.
I am managing nine development and emergency response projects with interventions of Cash and Vouchers Assistance, multipurpose Cash Assistance, Transport vouchers for health, Shelter, WASH, Food assistance, livestock fodder, and agriculture input. I manage Six partner organizations for five emergency responses and four development projects on Urban food production, sustainable food and nutrition security-SFNS, economic empowerment, value chain, and youth technical and vocational education. I manage twenty staff members in the programme, MEAL, logistics, finance, and HR. I do donor compliance, and internal reporting, manage funds on the online portal Funds-PRO and manage data and documentation on the online system of MIS (Pro-MIS)

Chief ambassador and fundraiser for the organization, responsible for ensuring that it builds programs that advance its mission, secure the resources it needs to succeed, and manage funds efficiently and effectively.
In a short time, the organization secured seven project interventions, and the overall budget portfolio reached 17.3 million USD from .83 Million USD.  Developed partnerships with Oxfam, Rutgers, ACF, DAI-USAID, Welthungerhilfe-WHH, Concern Worldwide, British Asian Trust, UNOCHA, UNICEF, UNWFP, Government of Sindh project funded by World Bank and provincial disaster management authority-PDMA government of Pakistan. Led intervention on COVID response (emergency food and nutrition security of urban settlements, cash and voucher assistance, emergency food security, and livelihood). I have been looking at projects on:
·       Emergency response through Cash and Voucher Assistance, WASH, Shelter, Non-Food Items-NFIs, temporary learning centers, emergency health, and food distribution among flood-affected communities.

·       Build the capacity of the health system by providing support to the government health department with the provision of health infrastructure, medical pieces of equipment, and capacity building on COVID-SOPs

·       Agriculture value chain project with the provision of building capacity on enterprises development, advance agriculture practices, collective bargaining, and reducing the post-harvest losses.

·       Sustainable food and Nutrition Security

·       Rule of Law, Access to Justice, governance, and counter-violent extremism-CVA

·       Skill development of youth with inclusiveness and diversification of trades for the employment generation as well as small businesses

Livelihood Coordinator

As a livelihood and value chain coordinator, I coordinated with the government line department and district administration. This project was funded by the World Bank and assisted by the government of Sindh. Sindh Agriculture growth project Livestock component’s community engagement part was also Plan International's responsibility with the livestock department's synergy. I managed a team of social mobilizers and marketing specialists. In the project cluster-b, used Milk producing groups were formed and provided with the facility of milk chillers and drinking water for livestock. In these two districts, I conducted water needs assessment for fodder cultivation and the drinking water needs of the targeted community and their livestock. As Government of Sindh’s requirement, I was also assigned to develop a project phase-out strategy, which was later submitted to the world bank.

As a manager of programs, I managed over 50 staff members and six projects, including CVA, food security, sustainable livelihoods, agriculture, and climate-sensitive development. The developed sector implemented Projects on; emergency response, Climate change, DRR, Agriculture, Food Security, Livelihoods, WASH, and shelter. I established and led Emergency Response Team-ERT and Natural Resource Management Center. I also built relations with different government and non-government organizations, academia, Media, and Research Institutes.
I led a technical working group on Cash and Voucher Assistance in the time of flood emergency in the province and provided support to the WASH, Shelter, Health, and Food security clusters too. While working in partnership with Oxfam, Rutgers, and Plan International, I supported the multi-country project with the short-time deployment in Uganda for the Prevention Plus project on the prevention of gender-based violence to support the consortium. My job was to oversee implementation of livelihood and food security component of the organization with different partners. Position was based in regional office Badin and project target districts were Badin, Mirpur Khas and Thatta. It was UN-FAO funded project in which flood effected areas were to be provided with the technical support in agriculture and socio-economical support to bail out from the disaster. Project was focused to scale up agrarian community and to re-engaged in agriculture field along with betterment of livelihood conditions of small business holders (Women and men). My responsibility was to lead 12 team members in each district and also look after capacity building aspect with agriculture consultants for building capacity of small land holders. Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund-PPAF has also funded a project to graduate poorest and most vulnerable community households through provision of cash transfer, (Conditional and Unconditional), Assets transfer, business development (Shops) and capacity building on Enterprise development, Value Chain and Development of Business plan.

I was responsible for the coordination with stakeholders and district administration. Ensure participation in cluster meetings and progress sharing through 4Ws Matrix. Leading team of 32 field staff members with frequent field visits in targeted areas and villages. Project was DFID UKaid funded with integrated approach to fulfill needs of flood affected communities in terms of rehabilitation of infrastructure (Communication, education, Health), Shelter needs, food security and nonfood items distribution. Capacity building was also part of the project intervention, community notables and SMCs were trained on disaster risk reduction and psycho-social support.   
In Badin I was responsible for general food distribution in rain flood affected union councils with the team of 26 field staffs including assessment, mobilization officers and distributors. Project was funded by UN-WFP with the caseload on 26000 families. Food security portfolio was led by me, in terms of coordination and identification of areas to work at district level.
