DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Preparation of drawings based on the applicable codes, standards and client requirements.
· Preparation of drawings considering and visualizing about the practical possibilities and limitations during Production / Fabrication / Site activities.
· Paying regular shop visits to increase knowledge about fabrication practicalities & limitations.
· Preparation of quality drawings with all details, necessary for smooth execution of the project.
· Thorough Self–checking of drawings before submitting to Senior Structural draftsman.
· Preparation of Preliminary Bill of Material for Civil/Steel Structures as per initial Engineering Output.
· Preparation of final Bill of Material of all the accessories shown with all necessary parameters such as dimensions, material, Quantity etc. required for procurement of materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Responsible in creating and controls all drawings and specifications for construction based on equations, calculations and written instructions provided by designers and engineers for use during the construction process at job site.
2) Prepare sketches and shop drawings for fabrication, for mechanical and for piping modification including civil, structural, and electrical, infrastructure, instrument and communication lay out section elevation as per actual measurement.
3) Able to use manual drafting skills to draw plans that cannot be done or generated by computer as it entails fine‐tuning and revising of plans to meet construction and architectural requirements.
4) Responsible for knowing and complying site safety rules and regulations.
5) Conferring with Designers /or engineers, a draftsman initially gains an understanding of the scope and requirements of a project.
6) Prepares and revises engineering drawings, shop drawings, details, sections, charts and similar documents as directed.
7) Utilizing both manual drawing skills as wells as computer‐based application, such as automated computer‐assisted drafting, the draftsman creates both two‐dimensional and three‐dimensional renderings of the finished project.
8) Make simple but professional computation through the use of tables, charts, etc.
9) Once drafts have been completed, they are presented to the architect or engineer to review.
10) Following a discussion of any alterations that need to occur, the draftsman makes changes to the renderings.
11) Make red mark up and reflect then to as built drawings, red sign piping isometric layout as per Clients
12) Prepare pipe alignment sheets ( for pipe line projects)
13) Requirements and standard specification.
14) Prepares bar schedules and other construction notes.
15) Prepares bill of materials and cost estimates of simple structure.
16) Partly responsible in the orientation of new staff
