As Controller Operations I am resposible for managing all the Operations of the Academy, dealing with the Board of Trustees, Overseeing the statuory requirements, Overseeing the accounting operations, cost cotrol measures, review of budgets and financial statements.

• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual accounts as per applicable laws and regulations.
• Managing sales tax and income tax affairs and approaching for sales tax refunds and answering queries raised by the FBR and filing of monthly withholding tax return and annual return.
• Retail accounting, managing accounting of six point of sale locations.
• Treasury management, dealing with banks for finalization of exchange rate for foreign currency transactions.
• Preparing and controlling overhead budgets, cost controlling as per budget, ratio analysis.
• Managing parties’ reconciliation, bank reconciliations and stock reconciliations.
• Part of the SAP implementation team, successfully implemented SAP B-1.
• Responsible for preorder and post order costing.

• Preparing monthly and quarterly accounts as per management and statutory requirements.
• Managing the cash flow of my division in collaboration with finance department on the basis of sale proceeds.
• Managing sales tax and income tax affairs and answering of FBR queries and preparing data called by FBR during Income Tax Audit conducted as per Income Tax Ordinance.
• Preparing yield report, budgeted cash flow and other management reports.
• Working on feasibility of new capital project.
• Reconciliation of Oracle AP, AR and inventory module to GL module.
• Coordinating with MIS department for finalization of different reports specially relating to inventory and WIP.
• Coordinating with internal auditors and liaison with statuary auditors.
• Responsible for all the accounting transactions of weaving division and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
• I was a part of ERP installation team and actively participated in transferring of data from legacy system to ERP and successful running of different modules of ERP, especially AP, AR, Inventory and manufacturing.
• This is not the exclusive list; there are many other tasks like supervising three stores, assisting purchasers and production staff to final parties for purchase from local or international market on the basis of cost etc and other task handed over by the higher management.

• Preparing monthly accounts of Lahore unit.
• Assisting Director Finance in banking and finance matters.
• Preparing budgeted cash flow on weekly basis.
• Reporting monthly overhead to CFO and CEO.
• Analyzing bank positions on daily basis.
• Preparing monthly creditors position and highlighting and selecting parties for payment on the basis of cash flow position and credit terms.
• Overall responsible for all the transactions and compliance of International Accounting Standards, Tax and other Corporate Laws.

• Corporate business and finance reporting – Prepare annual and limited scope financial statements as per the requirements of IFRS and Companies Ordinance.
• Strategic audit planning–Developed general strategy, detailed audit plan in respect of external and internal audits.
• Coordination and management – Delegated work to staff, performed reviews and provide appropriate directions for conduct of work.
• System evaluation, documentation, improvisation and risk management – Obtain understanding of accounting and internal control system and identify weakness, address risk and provide suggestions for improvement of internal controls.
• Detailed verification and field work–Obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence through substantive, analytical procedures and physical stock counts.
• Taxation and allied matters – Prepared tax computations, tax status and deferred tax of clients in accordance with the Income Tax Ordinance.
• Certifications – Prepared statement of compliance with best practice on Code of Corporate Governance, prepare reconciliation of number of shares as per CDC statement with the record of the Company.
• Internal audits – Carried out audits to ensure effective and efficient design and implementation of policies and procedures and internal control system of the Company.
