To act as Union Council focal point to coordinate and support the preparation, implementation and monitoring of district PEI and EPI social mobilization and communication planning in the assigned district in collaboration with Department of Health and polio partners.
Major Tasks.
Planning and Organizing

Planning
 Identify UC-level activities for inclusion in District level communication plan and communicate to District Health Communication Support Officer (DHCSO)
 Identify IEC requirements and distribution plan and coordinate with necessary partners to ensure implementation.
 Ensure influential religious leaders, elders, etc. are included in team micro-plans
 Assist in preparation of SMs’ work plan and ensure inclusion of SMs\' names in the
UC micro-plan
 Conduct initial and on-going listing and mapping of underserved communities and classification of these. Keep track of all children under 5, vaccination status, as well as migration patterns and practices.
 To ensure communication and social mobilization planning is included in UC
micro-plans of the highest quality.
 Support in micro planning, including determining best timings (flexible) for vaccination activities.
 Ensure, through Medical Officer in Charge (MOIC)/DMO, that routine immunization services are made available to cover the high risk groups.
Implementation & Monitoring (Mapping)
 List congregations that require interventions and mobilize leaders in co-ordination with MOIC.
 Identify religion/cultural belief system/behaviors and accordingly use this to feed into communication material/ strategies and planning.
 Identify Information Education Communication (IEC) requirements and develop dissemination plans accordingly.
 Hold community events, meetings, rallies, etc. to mobilize underserved groups for polio vaccination.
 Identify IEC requirements and distribution plan and coordinate with necessary partners to ensure implementation.
 Monitor effectiveness of SMs and the activities conducted by him/her.
 Ensure orientation of Religious and Community leaders at the UC- level

Ø  Verbally screen all the people attending different OPDs of the designated Hospital, using the screening tool
Ø  Ensure that all the identified presumptive TB cases reach the designated Doctor for diagnosis/ treatment
 
Ø  Ensure that all the identified presumptive cases provide sputum sample for lab testing
Ø  Coordinate with the district field supervisor (DFS)/ (sputum transportation rider/ Gene Xpert Testing Incharge) and ensure that the sputum sample is transported to the testing facility as per the Guidelines
Ø  Ensure that results of the sputum tests are documented in the recording register
Ø  In case the TB patient is detected as Rifampicin Resistance (RR), TBS, with support of DFS will coordinate with the PMDT site for patient’s registration at the PMDT site.
Ø  Prepare monthly record of the screened; presumptive; registered TB cases; and report the same to Regional Coordinator as per the Guidelines

Ø  Community mobilization through awareness raising, dialogue and using PRA/RRA tools to identify and prioritize the needs related to COVID Vaccination
Ø  Identification/ formation of Community Organization (CBOs/COs) to take lead role, ownership and management of the activities in project areas.
Ø  Facilitation in arrangement of capacity building and training of the CBOs/COs and beneficiaries in implementation and optimal utilization of resources provided by the project.
Ø  Organization of meeting of communities for planning and implementation of project activities.
Ø  Arrangement of monthly meetings religious leaders, decision makers and ensuring record keeping.
Ø  Coordination with the project technical staff for the arrangement of capacity building.
Ø  Coordination with relevant stakeholders and proactively communicate and issues that might affect the project implementation and engage community support with guidance from the Project Manager.
Ø  Assistance to Project Officer in preparation and submission of case studies /success stories.
