I am a social development and humanitarian professional having thirteen years of experience. I am a qualified Psychologist and have practiced psychological counseling for more than seven years. My services were majorly been associated with the counseling and provision of psychotherapy services to the victims and survivors of trauma caused by distressing events, loss, and abuse. For one year, I worked with runaway and displaced children and initiated the process of reunion with family, psychosocial rehabilitation of both the runaway child and his family, and facilitated the provision of non-formal education and training for reducing the re-occurrence of such events. I have also worked with children and families belonging to the elite class and have helped them get comfortable with everyday challenges associated with education, society, and relationships. For more than four years, I served Sahil NGO and served dual responsibility by being both a trainer for various donor-funded projects of Sahil and a psychological counselor. In this job, the thematic areas I served included child rights and protection, child sexual abuse, gender-based violence, HIV, disaster management, WASH, and humanitarian response.
My qualifications include M.Sc in Applied Psychology and MS in Project Management. I have more than a decade of experience n administration, logistics planning and management, strategic planning, operations management, human resource management, team management, executive decision-making, and training. I have served in various projects in the industry of i. health: psycho-social health, MNCH, capacity building of health professionals, course redesigning for clinical assistants studying under TVET Punjab, assessment of the nutritional status of married adolescent girls, and psycho-social support services; ii. education: assessment of school health programs and capacity building of teachers; and iii. human rights and protection: capacity building of various stakeholders on child abuse especially child sexual abuse, GBV, and capacity building of privileged community members on their rights. The renowned international donors I worked with include CIDA, EU, Royal Norwegian Embassy Pakistan, UNICEF, USAID-SGAFP, USAID- Louis Berger, Ilm Ideas, and Research & Advocacy Forum. I am also proactive in communication, knowledge management, research, and reporting.
I am a self-driven person. I believe in a targeted and result-oriented approach while carrying out professional responsibilities. I always try to reach a conclusion after getting a thorough in-depth analysis of the scenarios. I believe in relationship building. I am a people person, good at networking, liaising, and coordinating. I like challenges hence I take up responsibilities that others might hesitate to perform. My can-do attitude has helped me serve various portfolios of diversified nature in both Lahore and Islamabad.
