As a Supervisor i have got an important role to play in the hospital. Supervision means overseeing the subordinates. The
supervisor is a part of the management team and he holds the designation of first line managers. He is a person who has to
perform many functions which helps in achieving productivity. Therefore, supervisor can be called as the only manager who
has an important role at execution level.
The duties and responsibilities of a supervisor are being responsible for the day-to-day performance of a small group,
either a team, a department, or a shift. Supervisors typically have experience in the group's purpose or goal and have
earned the position based on management's belief that they can guide the team. Hospital supervisors are responsible for
overseeing the day-to-day operations of a hospital or healthcare facility. They ensure that all staff members are performing
their jobs effectively and efficiently, and they act as a liaison between employees and management to resolve any issues
that may arise.
1. As a Planner - As a supervisor i have to plan all the daily work schedules in the hospital. At
the same time i have to divide the work to various staff according to their abilities.
2. As a Manager - As a supervisor i have to manage the entire team and to convey their
reservations to the upper management.
3.As a Mediator - A Supervisor is called a linking pin between management and workers. He
is the spokesperson of management as well as worker.
4.As a Counselor - A supervisor plays the role of a counselor to the worker’s problem. He has
to perform this role in order to build good relations and co-operation from workers. This
can be done not only by listening to the grievances but also handling the grievances and
satisfying the workers.
