Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Accountant to join our practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage various financial tasks efficiently. This role requires proficiency in using accounting software, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Duties: Manage payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely employee payments, and handle all related compliance issues.
Accounts Management: Maintain accurate financial records, prepare monthly and annual accounts, and manage ledgers.
Software Proficiency: Utilize accounting software such as Xero to streamline processes, manage accounts, and generate financial reports.
Corporation Tax: Prepare and submit corporation tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
Self-Assessments and VAT Returns: Handle self-assessment tax returns for clients and ensure accurate and timely VAT submissions.
Management of Staff:Supervise and support a team of junior accountants, providing guidance and fostering a productive work environment.
Time Management: Effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines without compromising on quality.
UK Timing: UK time 10am to 6pm. This is non negotiable
Qualifications and Skills:
A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, ACA, CIMA) are preferred.
Proven experience in an accounting role, preferably within a practice.
Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly Xero.
Strong knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
