Production Operations Management:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the rice milling plant to ensure efficient production while meeting quality, cost, and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement production schedules that align with procurement and sales requirements, ensuring timely availability of rice products.
  • Monitor and control production processes, ensuring that milling operations maintain high levels of efficiency and productivity while minimizing waste.
  • Ensure that product specifications are consistently met in terms of grain quality, moisture content, broken rice percentage, and other critical factors.

Plant Operations Oversight:

  • Oversee the overall operation and maintenance of the rice milling plant, ensuring that all machinery and equipment are functioning optimally.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely preventive maintenance, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous production.
  • Implement operational improvements to enhance plant efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain production at optimal levels.

Power Generation Management:

  • Supervise and ensure the efficient operation of the plant’s power generation systems, including generators, boilers, and electrical infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to manage the power supply to support uninterrupted milling operations, especially during peak production periods.
  • Oversee the maintenance and servicing of power generation equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maximizing energy efficiency.
  • Monitor energy consumption and implement strategies to optimize power usage, reducing operational costs without compromising production capacity.

Team Management & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the production team, including machine operators, supervisors, and technicians, ensuring all staff follow safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Conduct regular training for the production team on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality control measures.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the production department.

Quality Control & Process Improvement:

  • Collaborate closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that production processes consistently meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Implement process control systems to monitor product quality at various stages of production, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Work with the QA team to implement corrective actions and prevent future quality issues.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:

  • Work with the procurement and warehousing teams to ensure timely and efficient flow of raw materials (paddy) into the production process.
  • Monitor inventory levels of paddy and other inputs, ensuring sufficient stock is available to meet production targets while avoiding excess inventory or waste.
  • Communicate with sales and procurement teams to forecast production requirements and align production schedules with market demand.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations within the plant and power generation areas.
  • Implement safety protocols and regular safety inspections, ensuring the well-being of all employees and compliance with national regulations.
  • Oversee waste management and energy usage in line with environmental standards, implementing initiatives to reduce the plant's carbon footprint.

Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Manage the production budget, controlling costs and ensuring that production remains within financial constraints while achieving efficiency targets.
  • Track and analyze production costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, and improving production efficiency.
  • Prepare production reports and provide insights on operational efficiency, equipment performance, and cost control measures to senior management.

Coordination with Other Departments:

  • Collaborate with the procurement, quality control, finance, and logistics departments to ensure smooth operations and alignment with business goals.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss production requirements, forecast demands, and address operational challenges.
  • Ensure open communication between production, quality, and maintenance teams for problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing plant operations, reducing waste, and increasing production output.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor technological advancements and equipment upgrades that could improve plant performance, recommending capital investment when necessary.

It has a presence in 46 Districts in all the four Provinces including Azad Jammu and Kashmir through Regional Offices and Field Offices. NRSP is currently working with more than half a million poor households organized into a network of more than 57,179 Community Organizations. With sustained incremental growth, it is emerging as Pakistan's leading engine for poverty reduction and rural development.
