As a Receptionist with Student Counseling Skills, you will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for our students and visitors. You will be the first point of contact for anyone entering our institution and will be responsible for not only ensuring their administrative needs are met but also offering counseling support when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Front Desk Management:

  • Greet and welcome students, parents, and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Answer phone calls and provide information or direct inquiries to the appropriate department.
  • Manage and maintain the reception area to ensure it is clean and organized.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in counseling or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a receptionist or in a similar customer service role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and active listening.
  • Knowledge of counseling techniques and an understanding of the challenges students may face.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using office software and equipment.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.

Communication:

  • Effectively communicate information to students and parents regarding events, deadlines, and updates.
  • Serve as a liaison between students and other departments to facilitate clear and timely communication.

Resource Management:

  • Stay informed about educational resources, programs, and services available within the institution to better assist students and answer their questions.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and managing student information.
  • Handle basic clerical tasks, including sorting and distributing mail, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.

Student Counseling:

  • Provide counseling support to students, offering guidance and resources to address academic, personal, and social challenges.
  • Listen actively and empathetically to students' concerns and issues, helping them find appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborate with academic advisors and counselors to provide a holistic approach to student support.
