We are looking for a skilled News Editor / Copywriter to join our dynamic team and contribute to our high-quality content.

Job Summary:

The News Editor / Copywriter will be responsible for generating, editing, and proofreading content for our publication. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a deep understanding of the food processing and packaging industry, and the ability to write engaging, accurate, and informative articles. The ideal candidate will be proactive in seeking out news stories, possess excellent writing and editing skills, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation:
- Research, write, and edit news articles, features, and industry reports related to the food processing and packaging industry.
- Generate ideas for original content that will engage our audience and provide value to industry professionals.
- Conduct interviews with industry experts, executives, and other stakeholders to gather information and quotes for articles.
Editing and Proofreading:
- Edit and proofread articles to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Ensure all content adheres to our style guide and maintains a high standard of quality.
- Fact-check information and verify sources to ensure credibility.
Industry Monitoring:
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, news, and developments to identify relevant topics for coverage.
- Monitor competitor publications and other media sources to stay informed about industry activities.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the editorial team to plan and coordinate content.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align content with overall company strategies and goals.
- Liaise with external contributors, including freelance writers and industry experts, to commission articles and obtain content.
SEO and Digital Content:
- Optimize content for SEO to increase online visibility and readership.
- Utilize analytics tools to track content performance and make data-driven decisions to improve engagement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.
Proven experience as a news editor, copywriter, or similar role, preferably in a B2B publication.
Strong knowledge of the food processing and packaging industry is highly desirable.
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content.
Strong research skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools.
Familiarity with SEO best practices and digital content strategies.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
