IRC has been working in Pakistan since 1980, leading and delivering large, complex programs to meet the needs of health, education, safeguarding, environmental health, and livelihoods for displaced, poor, and disaster-affected communities. Job Overview/Summary: The Finance Officer will be responsible for day-to-day data processing while keeping in line with IRC policies ensuring that IRC Pakistan meets the compliance requirements of donors.
This position also requires close working relationships with Program, Logistics, Supply chain, Finance, and Human resource units.
Major Responsibilities:
Financial management of the Projects:
- Review project-related documents and allocate codes as per the approved budget to avoid any under/overspending.
- Support the Sr. Finance Manager in the implementation of the program activities related to the implementation of the program activities.
- Prepare the monthly BvA report of the project for the Sr. Finance Manager review.
- Develop and share financial reports with the Sr. Finance Manager and program team.
- Support Sr. Finance Manager for preparation of financial analysis of when and where required basis.
Cash grant payment related Tasks:
- Prepare documents of the beneficiaries for payments through the banks or other distribution mechanisms
- Support cash distribution and make sure the distribution is conducted according to the IRC SOPs.
- Prepare reconciliation of the clients regarding collected /uncollected. Reconcile the bank payments with the expenses charged to the project-specific ledger and what is collected by the beneficiaries
- Maintained database and tracker for cash programming.
Payments and Accounting system related Tasks:
- Processing Bank transactions/journal vouchers and implementing internal control procedures.
- Review and check all bank/cash payments comply with donor and IRC requirements.
- Prepare Cash and bank payment documents with accurate coding as per policy and highlight any shortcomings in the documentation for rectification by the program.
- Ensure that the Bank book is updated daily and perform bank reconciliation on a regular basis.
Record keeping and Archiving related Tasks:
- Ensure accurate filing, scanning, and label the documents of the project for easy access. This will lead to proper and complete records being maintained for audit purposes.
- Data archiving and management skills so that they can easily be retrieved for review and audit purposes.
- Any other assignment is given by the Supervisor.
Job Requirements:
1. Education: B. Com with master’s degree in finance/business administration, ACCA/ICMA/CA partly or fully qualified.
2. Work Experience: Minimum 03 years of relevant experience with NGOs, and INGOs in Pakistan, preferably in accounting and project management. Working experience with a Chartered Accountant firm will be an added advantage.
3. Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

- Ability and willingness to work long hours.
4. Language Skills:
Must be fluent in Urdu & English languages.
