Project Information:
This project focuses on improving Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities, with a particular emphasis on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), in Mardan, KPK, Pakistan. It aims to upgrade WASH infrastructure in all girls' schools of Tehsil Mardan by installing water filtration plants, drinking water coolers, handwashing stations, and rehabilitating toilets.
Additionally, the Behavior Change Communication Campaign will raise awareness on MHM among adolescent girls, while teachers will receive training in health education, WASH, MHM, and nutrition to become master trainers. Collaborative workshops with government departments, civil society organizations and all relevant stakeholders will disseminate project findings and foster partnerships. This initiative aims to create a healthier school environment and empower adolescent girls, by providing safe and gender-sensitive WASH and MHM facilities in girls schools of Mardan.
