Supervise agricultural crop services such as plowing, fertilization, irrigating, cultivating, spraying and harvesting.
Organize soil tests, suggest fertilizers and minerals based on soil test analysis.
Assist in the development and implementation of new processes to obtain maximum yields.
Hire and train workers.
Negotiate the terms of services to be provided.
May participate in the provision of services or in the operation of machinery and equipment.
Supervise maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and supplies.
Develop work schedules and establish procedures.
May perform general farm duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of practical farm management.
Thorough knowledge of soils, crops, Greenhouse vegetable farming and organic fertilizers.
Thorough knowledge of farm equipment and materials and ability to manage the use of materials and equipment efficiently and economically.
Considerable knowledge of plant anatomy, diseases, pests and of modern methods of their prevention and eradication.
Ability to plan and direct large scale diversified farm activities, to supervise large groups of farm workers in farm activities and to direct skilled and unskilled employees in varied farm operations.
Ability to keep records of time, production and costs, and to make reports and recommendations for improvement in methods and equipment.
