Objective:

  • A Subject Specialist plays a pivotal role in curriculum development, designing exams, crafting paper specifications, and formulating mark schemes. They orchestrate an annual calendar for educational activities, including assessments, and oversee other pertinent tasks crucial to optimizing learning outcomes within their specialized domain.

Job Responsibilities:

Under the direct supervision of the Line Manager, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Creating and evaluating examination syllabi, inclusive of Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) and Paper Specifications, for primary and secondary classes in Sindh and Punjab, aligned with the Single National Curriculum.
  • Choosing the most suitable textbooks for primary and secondary classes, providing academic evaluations.
  • Developing and evaluating model lesson plans for primary and secondary classes in specific subjects to ensure quality and effectiveness.
  • Creating supplementary worksheets tailored for primary and secondary classes in Sindh and Punjab to complement the lesson plans.
  • Producing high-quality questions of various types in accordance with paper specifications.
  • Generating and upholding an ample pool of questions in the question bank
  • tailored for various classes in Sindh and Punjab separately.
  • Designing, assessing, and enhancing examination papers for primary and
  • secondary classes separately in Sindh and Punjab, encompassing the stages of creation, meticulous proofreading, and thorough editing.
  • Composing summer and winter vacation homework assignments for primary and secondary classes, tailored separately for Sindh and Punjab regions.
  • Conducting meticulous proofreading, thorough reviewing, and precise editing of examination and academic documents.
  • Applying Shariah guidelines and conducting an in-depth examination or assessment (Tafteesh) of documents for primary and secondary classes.
  • Ensuring prompt and effective completion of assigned institutional tasks within designated work hours.
  • Performing any additional tasks as delegated by the supervisor or line manager.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

  • The incumbent should have Bachelors in Computer or a related field Masters would be preferred.
  • Exposure of the principles and practices of research and development in the education sector
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in curriculum development and assessment
  • Ability to meet targets within tight deadlines
  • Strong administration and organizational ability
  • Result-oriented team player
  • Good verbal and written skills communication in Urdu and English.
  • Sound judgment, flexibility, adaptability, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Proficiency in MS office
