JHL is one of the largest and leading Government hospital of the provincial capital Lahore. However, unlike other Government hospitals, which are run solely by the provincial government, this is the first hospital in the Punjab that is autonomous and governed by an independent Board of Management that oversees the affairs of both the Hospital and Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC).

This 1200 bedded, not-for-profit hospital is dedicated to serve poor patients. In the year 2006-2007 alone, 700,000 deserving patients were treated at Jinnah and we provided free medicines worth Rs. 107.1 million to non-affording patients!
