As the name indicate, the Door of awareness is a welfare organization striving to create an awareness among the street & gypsies children and their parents about their rights and how to lead a better and purpose oriented life, with a view to use the available resources to the best of their capacity and to derive the maximum benefit out of their abilities as citizens with equal opportunities. In this context, the Door of Awareness has established schools at the primary level: Here the students are being given basic health facilities. They are being taught appropriate skills which can be applied to make an earning in practical life. The organization provides the street population a favorable forum, through which medical camps, training programmes and seminars are, organizes, while resource persons from different walks of life visit the forum and render valuable services in matters pertaining to the objectives of the organization. They contribute all that they can to ameliorate the lot of the deprived section of the society. Another important feature regarding the door of awareness is its vast sphere of networking which connects various families to each other and addresses the problems of parents worried for getting appropriate proposals for their children. Additionally, the organization helps the unemployed get in contact with the concerned institutions, so as to get employment.
